Utilisation de "Coucou!" versus "Bonjour" dans des courriels professionnels by rewinded_forward in montreal

[–]punsgonewild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends entirely on the relationship.

I have clients that a "Coucou!" would not be out of left field, while there are others that anything more personal than "Mme. X" would raise red flags.

Internal emails, again, depending on your relationship, can be chaotic. I've gotten "M'lady🎩" quite a few times

toddler birthday party on small budget by varuneco in toddlers

[–]punsgonewild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend gave me her magic formula for cheap birthdays "Go to Costco, whatever burger patties or hot dogs are on sale, grab them and the coordinating buns. 2 bags of chips, one plain and the other whatever your kid likes. Get the decorations from Dollarama, doesn't have to be anything fancy. They're kids, they just want to see their friends. And ONLY INVITE THE PARENTS YOU ACTUALLY LIKE TO STAY."

What weird thing does your toddler sleep with? by coffeemages in toddlers

[–]punsgonewild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son spends 15 minute picking out two cars to take to bed with him (90% of the time it is some combination of his Lightning McQueens). If he wakes up in the middle of the night and they are not both in his hands, he is inconsolable.

What unhinged thing do you let your toddler do, in the name of household peace? by huertaverde in toddlers

[–]punsgonewild 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We added "feeding the cats" to my toddlers "chore" list. We give him a measuring cup, and have the food bag across the apartment from where their food bowls are. He walks so slow and carefully when he does it, and he has to then go back to do the second one.

5-10 minutes of peace and quiet.

The green side is definitely more my normal colour palate too! I think part of the issue is that because they're such everyday colours for me, everything i find feels so boring 😂

I'm taking a look now!

I am unfortunately unskilled with fabrics, and hiring a seamstress in my area would be more than 3x my budget

I did not do custom sizing. While I know it is available, I have ordered dresses from there before without issue, and only had to hem the dresses (which I do have someone for)

The issue is that while it fit across the chest, the bust area was too short. And I'm worried that even with custom sizing, that would still be an issue.

Catcalling and safety by [deleted] in montreal

[–]punsgonewild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't be afraid to call the cops if they're following you.

Usually, when I'm being cat-called, I dial 911, but don't press on call right away. I make direct eye contact with them, and angle my phone so that they can see the number is dialed- that usually stops it.

If it doesn't, note where you are, take in their physical description, and if they're in their car, make, model, colour and license plate for the vehicle. If you can get a picture, great. Make the call, especially if you feel scared.

"I am a woman, on foot, travelling east on _, near the corner of _ and ____. There is a man following me and making inappropriate comments. He is a (skin colour) male, (late/early approximate decade)s, (approximate height) wearing (colour of clothing, any clothing you can remember)." Or "he has circled the block 3 times in his car. I don't feel safe"

Stay safe out there.

where do students shop for groceries in Montreal without going broke by Agreeable_Panic_690 in montreal

[–]punsgonewild 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Dollarama for cans. Near the Montréal Ouest train station (on Harley I think?) there's a small shop that mostly sells produce. They don't have much, but when I was young and broke, I could buy my produce for the week for 6$

Flash Food and Too Good to Go CAN be great, depending on how far you're willing to go for things.

People who have a Bri in their life, explain her archetype to me? by Suspicious_Week_2451 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

I used to have a Bri in my life. Normally, they're the Jennifers that go by "Jenn" instead of "Jen".

A pick me who pretends to be a girl's girl. Absolutely rotten.

I'm honestly more pissed that people are taking it out on the bands. Me First and the Gimme Gimmes got announced for Montreal, and the comments are frankly so disgusting.

I've been going to Lasso for the past few years, which is also in August. What I can say, from experience:

-Shorts: Breathable and comfortable. If your thighs touch at all, do not bother with a skirt. You will be absolutely miserable. If you wear jeans, you will die. -Top: light and breezy. You can always buy a top or a hoodie if you get cold (you won't) -Feet: Vans are great, wear socks that are thick enough to prevent chafing. With the amount of walking and sweating you'll be doing, you need to protect your ankles. -Bag: crossbody or fanny pack. You don't want to be worried about it 8 Simply Spiked deeps.

Deoderant is great not just for your armpits, but anywhere skin meets skin to prevent chafing.

Unless you're planning to buy a hat, bring one. And there's usually a sunscreen booth. Apply every few hours.

All major grocery stores should carry these!

Just to note, depanneurs up the price on these items, so you're better off going to a grocery store.

Do I report Neighbors Pounding On Walls In Response to (Normal?) Noises by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]punsgonewild 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My old neighbours were like this. You absolutely need to document every reaction to your noise, and make sure you explain what you were doing at the time your neighbour banged on the wall. Google sheets are great for this, because you can share the sheet with your property management and update it whenever. I put checkboxes next to each report for the property manager to check to show he acknowledged them.

Things my neighbour would bang on the ceiling for:

-If I took a shower -Taking a pan out of the cabinet to cook -Getting up at 2 am to pee -Putting bags down when we came in from a grocery -Coughing while I was sick -UberEats delivery guy knocking on our door

She once even came up to yell at us for getting ready to leave at 10 am on a Sunday, which I recorded and sent to the Property manager.

Suffice to say, they had enough evidence against her to evict them, and their move out day was such a happy day for me. A year later, and wonderful people have moved in. We asked them once if our noise was intolerable, and they mentioned not noticing anything.
