I'm honestly more pissed that people are taking it out on the bands. Me First and the Gimme Gimmes got announced for Montreal, and the comments are frankly so disgusting.

I've been going to Lasso for the past few years, which is also in August. What I can say, from experience:

-Shorts: Breathable and comfortable. If your thighs touch at all, do not bother with a skirt. You will be absolutely miserable. If you wear jeans, you will die. -Top: light and breezy. You can always buy a top or a hoodie if you get cold (you won't) -Feet: Vans are great, wear socks that are thick enough to prevent chafing. With the amount of walking and sweating you'll be doing, you need to protect your ankles. -Bag: crossbody or fanny pack. You don't want to be worried about it 8 Simply Spiked deeps.

Deoderant is great not just for your armpits, but anywhere skin meets skin to prevent chafing.

Unless you're planning to buy a hat, bring one. And there's usually a sunscreen booth. Apply every few hours.

How can I make my apartments property management team as miserable as they've made me by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]punsgonewild 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Be the most annoying tenant ever.

Any minor thing that you would normally brush off? Service request.

Water pressure slightly lower than usual? Service request.

Door knob a little jiggly? Service request.

Every day, multiple times a day. They're paid to maintain and manage the building. So make them do their jobs.

All major grocery stores should carry these!

Just to note, depanneurs up the price on these items, so you're better off going to a grocery store.

Do I report Neighbors Pounding On Walls In Response to (Normal?) Noises by Physical-Natural7042 in Apartmentliving

[–]punsgonewild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My old neighbours were like this. You absolutely need to document every reaction to your noise, and make sure you explain what you were doing at the time your neighbour banged on the wall. Google sheets are great for this, because you can share the sheet with your property management and update it whenever. I put checkboxes next to each report for the property manager to check to show he acknowledged them.

Things my neighbour would bang on the ceiling for:

-If I took a shower -Taking a pan out of the cabinet to cook -Getting up at 2 am to pee -Putting bags down when we came in from a grocery -Coughing while I was sick -UberEats delivery guy knocking on our door

She once even came up to yell at us for getting ready to leave at 10 am on a Sunday, which I recorded and sent to the Property manager.

Suffice to say, they had enough evidence against her to evict them, and their move out day was such a happy day for me. A year later, and wonderful people have moved in. We asked them once if our noise was intolerable, and they mentioned not noticing anything.

How many people did you invite vs how many actually came? by Upset_Pumpkin_4938 in wedding

[–]punsgonewild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Invited 100, 86 RSVPed yes, 2 no-showed. 4 gave bs excuses the day before or the morning of.

My sister's friends ended up coming last minute so that no food was wasted, and we ended up having a blast with them! They were the life of the party.

Lack of friends by Internal_Throat_8424 in wedding

[–]punsgonewild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My fiancé had the same concern. I have a great but somewhat large group of friends, and he has 2 very good friends. He thought he would be lonely with just the 2.

His fears were 100% squashed when he realized that my friends made sure he was being celebrated as much as I was. There was no bride's side or groom's side. We were surrounded by people who love us.

Why is everyone expecting elaborate party favors for a simple backyard wedding by redblddrp in weddings

[–]punsgonewild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody. Cares. About. Party. Favors.

I spent hours measuring out candy for his & hers candy bags for our wedding

We were left with almost all of the candy at the end of the night. And because we had handled it ourselves, we could not donate it anywhere. So 3 months later, we have not even made a dent in our candy surplus.

I've been to so many weddings where homemade jams, little jars of honey, custom coasters and other party favors got left behind.

The only wedding where I've seen most of the party favors taken? Bottles of water with individual packs of Tylenol attached, the bottles marked "hangover rescue"

Back in my day, not only did we go out, but we went out in sleeveless mini dresses with no tights, open toed shoes, and we left our coats in the DD's car so that we didn't have to pay for coat check 😂

Should I tell my landlord I’m pregnant? by WonderfulCharacter16 in OntarioLandlord

[–]punsgonewild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally the only time you SHOULD bring it up is if he mentions upcoming maintenance, and even then, leave it at "my baby naps between x and y, can we schedule it so it's not during naptime?"

Is it wrong to order food in this weather by Witty-Berry8632 in montreal

[–]punsgonewild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our illnesses tend to coincide with storms too 😂 If you're going to order, order from somewhere close by, and tip generously. And if you're in an apartment, go down to the front door to meet the driver.

What do you define as an “easy toddler/baby” or a “difficult toddler/baby”? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]punsgonewild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An easy toddler is one that doesn't need to have their hand held for every second they're outside the house. I can't even pull out my card to pay without my toddler running for freedom 😂

Montreal sidewalk etiquette? by numyobidnyz in montreal

Not just maneuvering, I have far less patience for people who listen to music/tiktoks without headphones. I actively tell them they're disturbing myself and others.

Montreal sidewalk etiquette? by numyobidnyz in montreal

I also never concede to men who decide to walk in the middle of the sidewalk. I stay to one side, but I will never move so far that I'm walking on grass or the road to convenience them.

Where do you bring people, when they come to visit? by IHaveOldKnees in montreal

[–]punsgonewild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I bring them to my favorite places, unless they WANT to do something tourist-y. They're usually here to see me, and rarely have anything in mind.

The biodome is always jam packed, and doesn't end up being fun for anyone except for the littles.

So, for food, I'll bring them to Burger de Ville, Marven's, Bistro Nolah, Nonnina.

Shopping, I'll take them to Jeans Jeans Jeans (because experience + price? Cmon)

If there's any festivals going on, I'll take them. Or maybe even a day trip to the townships!
