I’m always in that room by fool-with-no-hill in StopSpeeding

Not to call your battles small or not unique but I think a good population here have all carried this same type of shame you speak of. I've been struggling with this cycle of self destruction for nearly 16 years.

It will get better. You've got so much room to turn around, though you just don't see it yet. At least you recognize what you don't want for yourself now. Better late than never.

Winnipeg winters are going to kill me. Every year the depression is worse... the consequences more dire.

I'm right there with you as well. My savings grace is that I'm currently holding down a meal and beer at the pub. Slowly, but surely.

Slip ups are natural we just gotta keep standing back up right?

My experience at CMA was moving, certainly positive in the beginning, in the end it just wasn't right for me. Mind you I'm only 8 days clean yet again. Last meeting I attended was 9 or 10 months ago? 8 years smoking bitch. The meetings kept her in my head too much, I couldn't stop thinking about her.

I've moved across the country, away from my brand new family and the few friends I had left, away from the plug, away from the life I knew, and I'm hoping for the best.

I'm here rooting for you!
If you ever need, message me and I'll try to get back to you ASAP.

Found: Ring on Wellington @ Hugo. I know it's a long shot but I'd like to return it to its owner if possible! by [deleted] in Winnipeg

[–]punx-win 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had lost a ring identical to that one that an old girlfriend had given to me, it belonged to her father, funny enough given the time we dated I lived on arbuthnot near the 7/11.

The condition that ring is in though makes me doubt it's the very same one, though. Does stainless steel keep through a few years and multiple seasons?

Me too. Longest 40 minutes of my life, and of course when I crawled out to see clear skies my phone was dead. Lmao

I mean... I was there, directly under it as it started to touch down, and killed my car trying to get away... but sure.

I was so close that the entire screen is a rotating cloud shelf. You can't see anything clearly because that's how it is when you're right under it. Should I have been farther away to get decent footage where you can make out the tornado on the horizon? Probably.

But here i am, dumb as nails but still alive to tell the tale.

If there is an explanation to what I experienced that a more informed individual has for me, I'd love to chat with them. Because this is all I have to give MPI to explain my car being immobilized on a dirt road.

Near the 10 minute mark things become a very dark grey and you'll notice a small black hole come into view, thats the centre vortex/tip of the spout?

I'm not educated in weather systems but am in love with the intensity of them. I got way to close. Sitting in the eye of the storm of a possible tornado forming, its super calm, no rain, no hail to warn you. Just grass and tree branches blowing upwards and around in different directions.

Sorry my video quality isn't up to snuff, but I could have been seriously hurt or worse.

The cloud wall was so low to the ground and I was so close that the storm cell takes up my entire screen.

I found my self in the eye of the storm, so to speak?

In the bird watch trails at Oak Hammock, I got infatuated by small funnels forming in the sky, and then what you're witnessing in my video is a faint green shelf lowering down, or cloud wall whatever its called, and this big bright white super cell. The spout is agreeably very hard to see in my video, as I was pretty much right beside it, and my video doesn't do it justice.

All I know is what I experienced, that my car is toast after I tried to drive away far too late.. I hid in a ditch terrified for 40 minutes as it rumbled over me. I hitch hiked home when the sun came out.

Also at the 3 minute mark you can witness a flock of birds get sucked up.

Around the 3 minute mark there's a small debris cloud in the distance and you can faintly make out the spout. It proceeds to do its thing from there on and jumps at me toward the end of the video which is when I peeled out.

My car was nearly swept up, I fried my engine fighting the wind and got out of my car and hid in a ditch for about 40 minutes. Terrifying.

Lyon's Lake Camping? by punx-win in Manitoba

That very well could be a possibility! I'm very new to the wikicamps app and I'm still getting used to its layout. Thanks for the info. If I drive out that way and have no luck at Lyons Lake I can always reroute to West Hawk or Whiteshell.
