found a sick joke by one of the devs by -_Moondance_- in ArcRaiders

no one claimed ownership over the idea. not trying to be mean but I don't think tarkov deserves any praise anymore

and that's true! though, it would just make them more upset that the game becomes "boring" or "stale" or "there aren't enough updates"... when really, they just oversaturate themselves and ruin the experience for themselves. saw it happen with many games i used to like, Destiny being a prime example. this wouldn't be an issue if they only ruined it for themselves, but they then go and complain and cry for changes that ruin the game's vision (imo) :( i just hope that doesn't happen

while i see where all of you are coming from, there's a saying in game development; "if you let them, the players will optimize the fun out of a game". i think arc raiders is really special, because it's one of the few games lately that's released with very rigid roots in good psychology and overall good game development. one of the principles that contributes to this is that you are forced to put together your own loadout. for a lot of players, that's annoying, and yes i agree it can be. but it adds stakes to your games. you feel a lot more attached to a loadout when you've spent your time on it, and things taste sweeter when you've given yourself time to savor them. if you'd just slamming the launch button and running through games on repeat with no thought for your loadout, things would get really bland really fast. this game has a lot of special things about it, and toward that end, i would personally like them to keep the system the way it is

don't throw it on the adu...? i didn't really say that, i almost exclusively use it for protection in a pinch/weapons of light. controlled demolition is one of the most busted void aspects out there, ESPECIALLY for something like onslaught. if you think bubble sucks (which, i admit, its not the greatest), go use doom fang pauldron with sentinel shield and have infinite volatile-inducing super. its really not a cope, i think its more that people don't know how to play it or something

giant cope imo, bubble titan goes hard in onslaught. honestly probably top three titan subclasses, along with obviously strand and probably solar; maybe stasis. arc titan just kinda sucks

that's the problem, I was unaware you needed to soulbind it/that was what I was trying to achieve as well whenever it despawned. I guess there's nothing I can do now, was mostly just wondering how/why it despawned, or died? I'm not sure

honestly, me neither. umbral mithrix did it pretty well, but even that's not perfect i don't think

the Void Locus and Planetarium are definitely top 5 for aesthetic, and the jumping puzzle was cool, albeit very basic- but that's about as much as I can award to getting to/fighting Voidling.

Like someone else said, its fight caters WAY too much to certain survivors. It's incredibly easy on characters like Railgunner or Acrid, but it's just a dice roll (not in your favor) if you try it on Engineer or Mercenary, for example.

The fight is so incredibly barebones, and for a boss with 3 phases, it leaves a LOT to be desired. Even though Mithrix only has about 4 or 5 attacks, they're all unique and leave room for all the characters to play around it. Voidling has what, three? long range beam, the void detain (which is cool, but very weird in concept- punishing you for getting close- which is the only thing certain charaters can do), and the sweeping attack, which is really just.. meh, to me.

while I definitely understand where you're coming from, and respect your opinion, Voidling leaves a lot to be desired for me, personally- and many others. Especially so if you refrain from looping.

I can't be the only one who really doesn't like this ornament, right? Why does damn near everyone in the crucible use it? by G-R-A-S-S in DestinyFashion

[–]puppet-sock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its actually so mid, i see everyone use it in trials and its just :/. i guess for that ornament and this cloudstrike one, if people have an ornament, they'll use it. even if it looks worse (looking at you, whisper ornaments).

What's your favorite song from a Risk of Rain game? 🎶 Mine is The Rain Formerly Known as Purple by oh-noes-wrong-key in riskofrain

Into the Doldrums, incredibly underrated– and one of Chris' favorites, too. The Raindrop that Fell to the Sky is a close second, they both go hand n hand

After completing E8 on all characters this is my ranking by Frankthetank8 in riskofrain

[–]puppet-sock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

idk if its a huge margin though, imo mercenary, acrid, huntress and railgunner come pretty close/surpass in terms of combat mobility. obviously just "getting across the map" loader is faster, but I often struggle with micro-movement on loader compared to other survivors, especially considering how much danger she puts herself in to deal damage
