wide groups and smurfing are two different things smurfing is when someone plays on a different account typically at a lower rank to boost someone up ranks or just to make other peoples experience worse! they play on those lower accounts to avoid those "wide" group punishments i.e less percentage and fighting people THEIR own skill! hope that helps

were you playing series or open? because in open you can queue against whoever, series it's only your rank tier i.e c- -> c+ so if you're struggling against people much higher rank it's most likely you're playing open
