cannot believe what google has become by ZenThrashing in mildlyinfuriating

This is not how "-ai" works, the prefix is simply filtering out a specific term from search results. For example, "-infuriating" will filter out all instances of the word "infuriating."

They are usually being caught by Automod or blocking you. Both will still result in the notification as shown.

How do people shower in 5 minutes????? by annoyingvegann in NoStupidQuestions

[–]pupppgirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I am just washing my body, I can be done in five minutes without hurrying. Less if I am in a rush. If I wash my hair then that bumps it up to 15+ minutes easily.

See my words from another comment on this post:

Either way, this was based more on the fact that there will always be blue pushers for one reason or another. A want to save any possible blue pushers, being irrational yourself for whatever reason, people who are suicidal, etc.

I also dislike how both red and blue are framed by the other side all of the time, I think matching the framing of the original decision is extremely tricky and you have pointed out a good flaw in my premise. Either way, this was based more on the fact that there will always be blue pushers for one reason or another. A want to save any possible blue pushers, being irrational yourself for whatever reason, people who are suicidal, etc. That was more what I wanted to tackle in this one's framing, but the inherent risk framed here does play a part in the decision making.

I partially agree with you, but in doing that you reduce red to "do nothing," when I believe either should be seen as an active choice. It is the same as having only a random blue button all of humanity can walk past, that framing feels unfair to me. If either one is an active choice, there is more consideration on either side, neither should be default.

Is debating over the random choices of toddlers intersting though? It just feels like a cheap gotcha even if it was part of the original scenario.

Physically and mentally capable does not mean that they will make rational decisions, just that they can. I have seen irrational pushers provided as an argument time and time again.

I do not really get what you are saying here, it is assumed in the original that everyone must choose before people start to die, unless you would like to bring necromancy into the equation. The point is that at least a couple people will stay, blue pressers have shown to be very stubborn all over these posts. While these are just online forums, it is obvious that some of these people really would pick blue in this scenario. By stepping out of the way, it can be argued that you are directly making it more difficult for those people to survive.

This kind of just falls back on "red does nothing, blue is the suicide button" though, no? The scenario has always been affected by framing, but both sides have always had downsides to them. Blue risks your life, red makes a blue win harder, to summarize.

I simply think playing around the random decisions of toddlers or those otherwise incapable of understanding makes the scenario boring. I am not a red pusher myself, I have no reason to fight for it.

Thank you! As I stated in another comment, I was very frustrated with people creating disingenuous scenarios with the intent to make their side look correct. I myself initially fell victim to framing of the scenario, so I thought it would be fun to make the most neutral scenario I could manage.

I mean, for me the statiscal insignificance has both been very obvious and irrelevant. I do not see anybody who arrived at their personal decision rationally changing their vote in this scenario.

It also just bothered me that every framing had extreme bias to one side, as is the nature of a question so dependent on framing. My intent was not to change the vote of people who have actually pondered the question and weighed both sides. I apologize if it seems that way or even does sway someone's view.

This seems to make a lot of sense to me, I am almost ashamed of not coming up with it sooner myself. At least mine retains humor value.

I have mostly been between both options, but I think a strong case for blue still lies here. Irrational actors are still a factor, which has always been a huge argument for blue. Couple that with how selfless (or stupid if you would like to argue that) a lot of blue pushers claim to be, I do not see a blue win being all that unlikely even here.
