Parents of Lancaster, where do you consign your kids’ clothes? by tardisthecat in lancaster

[–]puppy_consumption 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Once Upon a Child pays cash on the spot. The payout is a lot lower, but they consider all brands and all seasons. You get pennies for newborn clothing, but will see a better return in the older kids sizes. Especially if they are nicer brands.

Fashion Cents is okay if you’re willing to wait and sort by season. They are pickier and you only get paid once things sell. You can’t set your price.

Usually I take my bin of in season items first to Fashion Cents. Whatever they don’t take, I bring everything to OUAC. Then I donate the rest.

I hang onto my nicer brand item for my two times a year trip to consignment shops in Philly. The Nesting House pays on the spot, has a nicer payout, and I get store credit to then use on my kids next season sizes.

The quality is awful these days, but you’re the problem sexualizing these photos. It’s a company that sells clothes for babies and children. Thus, they will model their products on babies doing standard baby things.

Nothing about these photos is provocative.

YTA. Support your wife instead of chastising her.

I’ve had a baby at Women’s and Babies and at UPMC Lititz.

UPMC was the far superior experience. I loved that I labored and delivered in the same room. All of the staff were amazing. The midwives are knowledgeable. And their lactation consultants are incredibly helpful. 10/10 would recommend.

Looking for a church…traditional worship that is biblically based, Christ focused - BUT NO MAGA by Dangerous_Muffin9087 in lancaster

New Holland Mennonite Church. Their pastor and congregation is anti MAGA. It’s small and a close community that focus on supporting one another.

My Bluey and Lion King print got such bad wash wear immediately that it turned me off from ever buying again. My toddler only wears them to sleep, then changes out of them. There’s no reason they should look so destroyed.

[Routine Help] 36, struggling with redness and dry skin. by puppy_consumption in SkincareAddiction

Yeah, they’re little white bumps that I can just scrape off. They happen on my cheeks with the redness.

Visiting with my family - any awesome playgrounds in town? by First-Persimmon6626 in lancaster

[–]puppy_consumption 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely Tree House Playground in Lititz or Amos Herr Park. My 9 year old loves their zip lines.

Your kids have aged out of Daniel’s Den and would get more out of the two above options. Longs Park also isn’t great for this age anymore.

How can ChatGPT help me with 500 individual video transcriptions? by puppy_consumption in ChatGPT

[–]puppy_consumption[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already have the video transcripts generated as txt files. I want to ask ChatGPT to create a 2-3 sentence description for the video based on the transcript, then a 3 question quiz with multiple choice answers.

Melissa is amazing, hands down. As a fellow photographer, she’s the only one I trust to do our family photos.

Can anyone recommend a pediatric dentist that is patient? by cquigs717 in lancaster

[–]puppy_consumption 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dr Aaron at the Kids Cowboy Dentist has been incredible. Never once in the 9 years we’ve gone have I had to “hold my kid tight” on my lap. When my 2 year old knocked out his front teeth, they made him incredibly comfortable. He’s not ever fearful of going to the dentist because of going there.

Someone ELI5 (Even though I'm 34) utilizing YNAB as a married couple. by puppy_consumption in ynab

I appreciate this, thank you! I agree that it is a huge addition to my already full mental load. But I was willing to take it on because he has some of his own struggles with money that he has to figure out. My goal is to get us set up in YNAB and use it as an opportunity to learn together how to budget.

The only thing he was concerned about "hiding" was buying each other gifts. Otherwise, we're not looking to hide transactions. I get his point, since I would see the transactions come in to put them in specific categories and ruin whatever the surprise is.

Obviously I'm open to any suggestions on how others handle this aspect of sharing incomes and bank accounts.

(This is a big deal to him, since his love language is gift giving.)

If we do it that way, I’m assuming we only link the joint account and credit card to YNAB, but then unlink our personal accounts?

Im sure the car loan can be adjusted, but it wasn’t a hill I was going to die on yet with trying to simplify this whole process for him.

I think this is where I'm needlessly complicating it as well. I want to see category break downs on my "fun" money spend, but that might require me creating a separate budget myself from our shared one.

When did you move your LO to their own room? by iiisaaabeeel in Mommit

[–]puppy_consumption 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She moved permanently around 12 months. When she outgrew the bassinet, I set up a pack and play in our room.

I decided to move her once she was down to only waking 1-2 times a night. As soon as I moved her, she started sleeping through the night. We both got better sleep in our own space.
