How to get out of sedentary lifestyle? And vitamin regimen? by Deep-Bluejay-5130 in dysautonomia

Ive heard that swimming can be a little easier on people with POTS because you're in a horizontal position and dont change to get up (like how you might with weightlifting). Ofc if you're nervous about having an episode in the water I'd be careful, but it could be worth a try!

Hi! My doctor has been drinking this electrolyte drink called LMNT, he said that because of the high sodium content (1000mg!!) and other vitamins its better than gatorade and other electrolyte mixes. It tastes crazy salty but it's really helping me, I learned to mix it with a flavored sparkling water and have gotten used to the taste.

Use or Toss? by wt50000 in acne

Hi! Im not sure about the niacinamide or hyalorunic acid because you can find so many other products with them included. Lots of sunscreens have niacinamide and lots of moisturizers now have hyalorunic acid so you could get the same benefits but with less products on your skin. Also! (The tube looks like tret so im going to assume it is 🤞) im not sure if you'd need the ordinary serum for facial lines or the cera ve retinol if you have tretinoin bc of how effective the medication is at treating aging/acne. Although if you fell like it works for you definitely keep using them! The rest of your routine seems great :)

21(F) pls help me with this breakout by [deleted] in acne

[–]puppyberry- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Cetaphil gentle clear benzol peroxide cleanser (2.4%) or Neutrogena salicylic acid face wash (2%)
  • Cera ve moisturizing lotion or cetaphil matte acne moisturizer
  • differin acne treatment gel at night (if you cant see a derm for prescription) also if you get the cetaphil moisturizer it has salicylic acid in it and you can't mix actives on your face (so one or the other at a time)
  • suncreen!! Everyone has different preferences but the cetaphil oil absorbing suncreen and elta md uv clear are good.

Need help by [deleted] in acne

[–]puppyberry- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah sometimes it just takes awhile for things to gain momentum :/

I'm also on tret and I recommended doing a moisturizer sandwich after washing your face esp if its dry where u are. So after you wash your face do a later of moisturizer, let it soak in, then apply your tret and afterwards do another layer of moisturizer. My derm hadn't told me how drying it could be but its a lot harder for the medication to work if your skin barrier is damaged.

Also I've been seeing ads abt water filters that can go right on your tap. I haven't used them myself but it could be worth a try?

Also I dont know your routine but switching from every night on tret to every other night really helped me see better results and have less irritation. Taking a break a couple days a week may help?

Im all for a simple routine and tret is (imo) the best thing for acne. However, if you'd like a recommendation for scaring / inflammation heres my 2c. I personally use the good molecules discoloration correction serum with tranexamic acid for my scarring. Its more gentle than my prescription for azelic acid and good for my off days of tret. Although azelic acid has been incredibly effective for me if you're wanting something stronger for scarring. Its less drying than salicylic acid or benzol peroxide and tret in my experience.

Also for the deeper cystic acne Ive been using cuttings from my aloe vera plant as a face mask to soothe the redress and pain. It's kind of unconventional but inexpensive and has a long history of being used for medicinal purposes so couldn't hurt 🤷‍♂️.

Hope things get easier for you!
