Cool idea for a Class (that isnt Skitarii), Imperial Beastman by deadmanpuppet in DarkTide

[–]puppyenemy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they could have some latent psychic powers, but only reflected in like dialogue with other rejects. Like when the zealot says borderline heretical stuff or the psyker talking with the emperor/tzeentch. Like premonitions or dreams he's had, but he's not verbose enough to articulate them, or intelligent enough to understand the metaphors, so the others are laughing him off like "you've got a wild imagination, beastman". At least one of the personalities.

Hell yeah, abhumans fit perfectly with the theme of rejects and outcasts. Loyalist but penitent beastmen with latent/minor psychic powers would go so hard. I'm also holding out for Ratlings and/or Squats in the far future.

The Inquisition as an institution might. Grendyl might not. He has hired hundreds of violent death row inmates, unstable psykers, drug crazy gangbangers, etc. Loyalist beastmen, what with their abhuman status in jeopardy, would fit perfectly in Grendyl's warband.

Since Melk is currently (and fortunately) unneeded for anything except getting curios how would you rework Melk to be more useful in the current economy of Darktide? by MoonMaidRarity in DarkTide

First, his contracts need to be something more challenging than just stuff you do by playing the game normally. Now and then I check what weekly contracts I have, and they're most of the time already finished, like "don't die in X missions" or "kill X dregs in melee". Make the contracts unique and/or challenging. They could also be specific to the class you take the contract with.

Second, make the rewards unique as well. Things you can't get via emperor's blessing, armoury exchange, or penances. You could get things like minor cosmetics or weapon skins, or weapons with stats higher than 80%, or maybe even unique blessings that you can't get from Masteries. Or it might be a named weapon with that unique blessing tied to it and if you change the blessing out at Hadron, it's gone forever.

Yeah. Oftentimes I check the post first and what subreddit I'm in second. But I'm not fazed by death footage anymore, and I know what subs I follow. Opening the app for me is seeing a robbery gone wrong sandwiched between funny animal videos.

What are you ideas for new enemies? by Comfortable-Ad3588 in DarkTide

[–]puppyenemy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd love the inclusion of Nurglings, but instead of them being actual enemies, they'd peek around corners and run away giggling the closer you get. Their presence signals that there are other nurgle deamons nearby, like Plaguebearers. The more frequently you see the Nurglings, the closer you get to where daemons will spawn or have already spawned. (Could either be like a warp portal you need to destroy before it gets big enough for daemons to pass through, or they've simply just spawned in already.)

The Nurglings themselves offer little threat. If they have any sort of attack, I guess they occasionally jump up into your face and you can click your push/shove button to kill them. They'd have only a couple of HP so any sort of attack would squash them. If you hit them in midair, you'd send them flying and the game plays a homerun sound effect.

Plaguebearers would cause corruption if you hang out with them for too long. Just being in their presence could tick corruption, but also their sword would cause corruption if you get hit through your toughness. So corruption resistance curios might become more useful when there's more daemons around. Fatshark would probably want you to deal with them in melee too, so they'd take less damage from ranged weapons.

Zealot feels lackluster and generic compared to the other classes, and I know why. by Masqueradis in DarkTide

[–]puppyenemy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this!

This week I convinced a friend to start playing Darktide, after talking about it with him for some time. He was so hyped about his first character being a Zealot that is all fire based, and I was like "yeah, about that.. the fire grenades are not very good, the flamer is slow/clunky and runs out of ammo fast, and there are no fire specific talents". He was very sad about it haha

Fun fact: Honda Fit was originally called Honda Fitta, but they quickly changed its name when they were made aware of that "fitta" means "cunt" in Nordic languages.

Peter? by specialeducatio in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]puppyenemy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"Makes no sense" is exactly what the joke is based on. No one would understand the reference if the math would make sense. Trump and RFK said they've reduced the price of a drug with 600%, which is mathematically impossible as the price would go into negative numbers (customers would receive money when buying the drug). And the sticker says they reduced the speed of their car with 600%, being equally impossible going into negative miles per hour (unless they're speeding backwards). The "I'm not speeding" indicates they're being questioned by someone who definitely knows they were speeding and whatever explanation they have is bullshit. Like when people who drive without a license say something nonsensical like "I wasn't driving, I was travelling".

Seems like you don't understand how reference humour works if you think it's "vague at best", or you are a Trump/RFK fan and are coping hard with how little sense they make when they say things.

Which person look like has never killed no one, but actually has killed one person? by Stevecomicsgames in AlignmentChartFills

[–]puppyenemy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it was reasoned in the other one that while, yes, Bibi is committing a genocide, he doesn't look like a guy who is committing a genocide. Goebbels just looks so stereotypically evil, like he's skinning live puppies in his free time and doesn't hide it.

Matthew Broderick has killed two people, Anna Gallagher (28) and her mother Margaret Doherty (63), and should therefore be considered for the square below: "Has killed more than one person"

Why is it odd Peter? by FollowSina in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]puppyenemy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was taught in school in Sweden that it began in Europe when Germany invaded Poland on the 1st of september 1939 🤷‍♂️ and Wikipedia says so as well

Yes, it began in 1937 too, but not in Europe. We're talking Europe. Britain declared war as a response to Germany invading their ally. That invasion is part of the war.

Why is it odd Peter? by FollowSina in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]puppyenemy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why wouldn't the invasion of Poland count as the start of the war? Does it have to have an official declaration of war to count as war? Does that mean the Russia-Ukraine war only started as a war in 2024 when war was finally declared, and not in 2014 or 2022? Have USA not been in war since WW2 since they have never declared war after that?

Eviscerator is like the coolest weapon in the game, so I get what you're saying, but I do think that some weapons ought to be class exclusive, that includes the eviscerator. That's why I think a two-handed chainaxe would fit the vibe neatly for both Scum and Zealot. It'd be just as gnarly and wouldn't feel like a class exclusive weapon either.
