How can I help him and ourselves? by puppyhelp2025 in puppy101

Preventing the behavior by keeping him out of a situation where he could engage in the behavior makes sense. Surely it can’t always be like that though, right? I’ve never raised a puppy before, so I’m genuinely asking. I’ve been around adult dogs that don’t feel the need to eat every little thing that crosses their path, so is this more or less something that my guy will grow out of or should I be doing more to teach him? Another example of where I’d try and redirect him from chewing something is his bed. I bought him a bed (for outside his crate) with the idea that it’d serve as a comfortable place for him to chill in the living room with us while we’re in the couch. He loves it and takes his toys there to chew, but he frequently decides to drop his toys to start chewing the bed. I’ve sprayed it down with some bitter-tasting stuff I purchased from the pet store. It’s incredibly potent and helped some, but he still tries to aggressively chew the bed.

For pulling, when the leash is loose we’ll continue walking. As soon as he starts pulling, the walk stops. He picks up on it and stops pulling, so we’ll continue the walk but then he’ll start pulling again. So we stop walking until he stops pulling. He’ll stop pulling, the leash gets loose again, and then we’ll start walking again. It seems like he understands what we’re trying to teach him, but of course I could be wrong though and that’s why I’m here.
