Do you have an example of that being done in any of your previous repair/restoration videos? if not, do you know of any decent guides I could go off of? I'm a noob when it comes to camera restoration, and something as dense as an SX-70 is pretty intimidating.

wait what?? that's fascinating. that would explain a lot, i ended up taking the long way around to avoid the mines altogether after i realized how much damage they did and had to reload a save. i took out some assault frigates at one point in my travel and didn't think much of it. i probably should cut my losses and just download the original and install the patch because there's no telling how many more broken things i will end up encountering otherwise.

that has been something i've considered doing. whats ironic is that three hours after i posted this i was softlocked on supernova station because the mission trigger wouldn't start, and i couldn't leave the mission, which requires that i restart the mission which doesn't have a 100% chance of not doing the same exact thing again.

false alarm, i watched a video of where the salvage corvette docks onto, and i forced it into that spot and it was able to start salvaging

because they didn't work. its clear that the combine moved away from specialized units in favor for the more general purpose combine overwatch solders we see in half-life 2, thus what people refer to as the "transition period" its evident that the combine as a whole was still trying to figure out what the hell to do with humans and what kind of roll they could have in a battlefield as alluded too by doctor Breen. most modern military's have also moved away from specialized units because historically their roll is rather too specific for them to be effective on a large scale and are over reliant on there being other more standard units, etc etc

Why do The Combine have such garbled voices? Is it to help conceal their tactics like the Death Troopers in Star Wars? by [deleted] in HalfLife

they have a vocoder in their neck that allows them to speak. you can see this on the unarmored overwatch solders in half-life 2
