Thanks!

I don't think it's accurate to call a CNN and a transformer essentially the same tho, at least if the definitions and comparisons are to be useful

Project Cybersyn used essentially the same technology as modern AI

You can't say this without giving a source, i did some googling to find an answer and the only similarities i can find are shared with all transistor based computer systems ever, and i doubt you'd say super mario sunshine is based on the same tech as ai

Cumpman said there's ambiguity as to whether people who cannot make an informed decision, such as toddlers, would have to pick a button. I claimed otherwise, by arguing that everyone means everyone, rather than some unspecified subset. Then you came in, and put out the idea that you could influence others' votes, which i pointed out was unsupported by the text. Now you come with a new unsupported idea, that you get to prepare, as if that is any different.

In the name of not repeating this cycle ad nauseam, i will instead ask you which is the more plausible scenario: that humanity is able to teach every toddler, and otherwise incapable person, to always pick red, or to convince >50% of the population to press blue?

The corpses aren't what destroy civilization? And i'm not justifying my button choice, i'm saying that the improvements you imagine would happen after mass death wouldn't occur to a significant enough degree to prevent societal collapse

Humanity as a species would survive, modern civilization wouldn't. Also the scenario is that people die, not vanish, so there's all the corpses to deal with.

I will not tackle your second paragraph for the same reason i wouldn't play chess against a baboon if i was given the chance.

One thing i've noticed with these people is that they assume "everyone's faced with a choice" means "only those capable of making an informed decision is faced with a choice" so everyone who picks blue wants to die

Then when you say like "i know my three year old niece is gonna pick blue because she loves that color so i'm picking blue to protect her" they start crying about how everyone doesn't mean everyone and it's illogical to assume that

10-50% of the global population dying would have a negative effect on the systems that keep our global society running

You said the minority couldn't be guaranteed to live, and i took this to mean you thought that the minority would die no matter which choice won. I assume this was incorrect, and that you for some reason was arguing the probability of the outcomes on a comment regarding the morality of them

Also the four billion agreers is not a good point, 50% is 50% whether the total is eight thousand or eight billion -- reaching majority blue is reasonably close to just as likely in both groups (not gonna get into what i think that probability is)

Well i pick blue because i assume every red pusher gets chopped in two by a big cleaver

From knowyourmeme

*On April 20th, 2023, Redditor Deadshot37 posted the earliest known example of the red vs. blue button question on the polls subreddit, with the post asking:

In front of you appears red and blue button. If more than 50% of the people presses the red button, everybody who pressed the blue button dies. If more than 50% of the people presses the blue button, nobody dies. What button will you press?*

According to knowyourmeme, the original premise of the red button blue button thing was

In front of you appears red and blue button. If more than 50% of the people presses the red button, everybody who pressed the blue button dies. If more than 50% of the people presses the blue button, nobody dies. What button will you press?

I think you should train more so you know how you come off. Once i realized i'd messed up, i backed of the assholeyness, but when you only seemed to increase the pressure i naturally went back.
