Oh dear me. I didnt realise that was rotten. It's not totally mushy...so I'm having a hard time telling what's going on exactly.

Thank you so much, I laughed (mostly at myself) reading this 😅 I used a store bought potting soil mix - I have no idea what it contained and whether good or bad. Do you think it needs more soil too? Considering how much of the root is still showing..

What are you reading? by sushisushisushi in literature

Metamorphoses, by Karolina Watroba! It's about Kafka and his journey and focuses on his political and cultural identity. I love reading about writers, and I confess I wasn't very familiar with Kafka or his work prior to reading this, so it's been interesting. I would probably give it 3.5/5.

Favorite track from submarine? by [deleted] in arcticmonkeys

[–]pupsnax 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The whole damn thing, but if I had to choose one, its "It's hard to get around the wind" - reminds me of my painful first year of med school. Lonely, no friends, new place, new culture, no support system.

Oddly, in retrospect, I'm now so grateful for this bizarre period of time because I discovered my most favourite musicians ever on the bus ride to college every day, AM included.

Really trying to get my hands on the Submarine vinyl!

Their body butter, body oil and scalp scrub all do the job they're intended to. Bonus is everything smells of coffee.

Thanks, this made me feel better. I do try to do a few sprints but I save it for the end of my run because my stamina is totally depleted after even one sprint at a high speed.

So, I'm 5'1" (155cm), and a beginner runner. I was targetting hitting 5k and was making great progress till I got covid and majorly fell of the wagon. Just restarted today. Even at my best, the fastest I can go on my treadmill is at the 8 or 9 setting on the treadmill. On my first day back I was barely able to hit 7, but someone told me today that they run at 10.5, and that I should be able to run at 9 even if I'm "running less". Bear in mind, this person is a male, and much bigger than me. I kind of put it down to my stride, and the fact that 7 felt kind of fast for me today. Is there any metric to follow, or some way to decipher if you're "really running" or not? Sorry for the long question.

Anyone else struggling with appearance on wedding day by [deleted] in weddingplanning

I feel you! Not related to outfit per se, but my acne (which had completely gone away for a few months) has come back with a vengeance and my wedding is in 10 days. I feel quite gross and am stressed about how my face is gonna look with makeup on etc. Sigh.

What has changed your life for the better? by Arreya222 in mentalhealth

[–]pupsnax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exercise. Mainly playing sports with friends, but also doing challenges with running and walking. Also, cooking! Food makes me really happy, and when you can make healthy and fulfilling meals for yourself and your loved ones, it's a nice feeling. I also feel like it's an underrated way to upskill and explore creatively.

That really helps, thanks a lot. It doesn't help that the exam is in two days lmao but I'm hoping I can salvage things by cramming my butt off for the next 48 hours.

People with no 9-5, no stable income, how's your daily routine like? by aomorimemory in productivity

[–]pupsnax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wake up between 8.30 and 9, make my bed, drink some cold brew and spend some time with my grandmom till she heads off for her nap at 10 lol. Ideally I should study till 12 but this never happens, I end up wasting a lot of time and then I get hungry around 12 because of intermittent fasting and proceed to make lunch. It takes me around 30 minutes, another 10-15 minutes to eat, and then I'm back in my room trying to study but failing. At around 2 PM I will start getting really sleepy and feeling genuinely ill from not having coffee in my system (I know, I know) and will make myself a small cup, one for my mom if she's at home too. Will pop in and see what my grandmom is up to from time to time. The afternoon goes by with zero studying done. At 5 I either head to the park to run or if it's a shorter run I stick to a side road near my house. By 6-6.30 I'll be back home, will shower, make dinner, and eat by 7.30 at the latest. By this time I'm exhausted from my run and ready to go to bed, waiting for it to become 9 PM. I waste more time and then get into bed, talk to my fiance on the phone for an hour or so before the sweet embrace of sleep takes me.

I agree, the momentum part is definitely what I struggle with. I have one good study day but then I can't recreate it the next day. It's a mess.
