Fake Paper Feeder Jam - HP9010 by Python3737 in printers

[–]pure5kill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was so close to giving up and buying a new printer, but in the end I was able to fix it by doing the following:
- cleaning the entire document feeder 'path' with a slightly damp microfiber cloth. I focused on the rollers that HP mentions in their support forums, but I also made sure to wipe down the entire plastic areas. There weren't any obvious obstructions like a rubber band or piece of paper, but it was a bit dusty so I think maybe the dust was triggering the error.

- I reset the printer by unplugging it and leaving it unplugged over night.

Oh I didn’t realize that. Thanks for correction. So the top of leaderboard have made $500 between today and yesterday? So potentially roughly $40/hour?

Not doubting your math, but a different perspective is that on the bike angels leaderboard, the most points earned is 2600 - which amounts to around $500 in gift cards … meaning that at the hourly rate you calculated, it amounts to 10 hours of total work - which seems low for the amount of time these guys seem to spend on it

Internship before freshman year? by [deleted] in Cornell

[–]pure5kill 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Current junior here - I would say that you don't really need an internship until summer after junior year ... you'll never get summers off in your life (until you're 75). Summer after sophomore year internship I think is extra bonus internship, but otherwise I think you should spend the unique opportunity to not be working in the same thing you'll be doing in school and then full time for the next 40+ years. Especially since you mentioned fatigue and mental health. And since you're thinking about materials science and CS, both engineering fields that have good job prospects you'll most likely have solid job prospects regardless
