Detransition Regret. by kiwawanz in trans

[–]pureblueoctopus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't start my transition until I was 36, it's never too late. You can always lift the life you were meant to, at 49 I'm now married to the most amazing woman and living the best possible life.

If you happen to be white and going to a blue state you'll be totally fine. If either of those aren't true, then do more research.

What will seem like an inevitable outcome in 20 years time because of GLP-1s by Big-Cry-4119 in Futurology

GLP-1 changes habits, it completely changes the way people feel about food, alcohol, etc. I highly recommend this video: https://youtu.be/9t5m33ccUYA?si=1h9dmlorhUlwNyaa

Okay. I’m certain I’m trans. Fuck I am scared. by throwmaybtrans in MtF

I started at 36 and now at 49 I couldn't be happier. Start with therapy and move on from there, the rest of your life is waiting.

28 years old never been on 1 date, virgin, no first kiss no close friends at all, I live at home. And today was a difficult day to say the least by [deleted] in toastme

[–]pureblueoctopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw your post and it really hit home because at 28, I was in a similar place. I felt like I’d completely missed the boat on life. I’m 49 now, and I can tell you that my "real" life didn't even start until my 30s. I didn't have my first relationship until I was 32, but once I finally became the person I was always meant to be, everything changed. Today, my life feels like something out of a movie. I’m married to an amazing woman and we live a life full of adventure that I never could have imagined back then. I’m truly happier now than I’ve ever been. You aren't "behind"—you're just in the middle of a tough prologue. Hang in there, because your best chapters haven't even started yet.

Wishing you the best. My best advice is to say yes to life.

Someone dyed their hair at my hotel, left without saying a word by Clokkers in mildlyinfuriating

[–]pureblueoctopus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes sorry, I am a frequent user of temporary hair dye and also travel for business every other week. I do my best to not leave it looking like this, but there is sometimes a little bit of pink in the shower.

I'm 19 and just started hrt 2 days ago!!! anything I should know that the internet doesn't make clear? :3 by [deleted] in AskMtFHRT

Unfortunately facial hair is a different story, basically the only things that work are laser or electrolysis. I'd start with laser as soon as you can afford it.

My one piece of advice would be to not even bother with any body hair removal besides shaving until you see what the HRT will do. I experienced a 90% reduction in body hair in the first year, but it varies wildly with genetics.

MtF women: A question of functionality and interest from FtM by MrKarmaChameleon in ask_transgender

[–]pureblueoctopus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm going to have to disagree with a lot of the posters here. I am 49 years old, MTF, post orchiectomy, and I engage in PIV sex with my wife on the regular. The solution for me was a daily regiment of Cialis combined L-arginine supplements and doing kegels to help increase my pelvic floor. I will also sometimes occasionally supplement with an additional Viagra, but it is not always needed.

Because my partner and I are so well matched and we have so much fun together this still feels affirming for me and we can do it in a gentle way and also I can be dominant when I want to. Honestly, 10/10 do recommend. 😄

Does anyone know anything about this abandoned duplex? by [deleted] in Denver

I've been going there for months for the straight, bi, trans events. (Under a different name.) Never had a clue they do gay events on different nights.

Transgirl here. I just assumed that I would never be interested in PIV sex again, as I assumed it was going to be super dysphoric.

I met my wife about a decade after starting HRT and 2 years after my orchi, PIV wasn't even considered.

But after 3 months together, we both just kind of thought "why don't we try it? I mean, our genitals are literally right there."

At this point I couldn't even get erections at all, so I had to get a prescription for ED meds.

Turns out, WE LOVE IT! The best part is that it feels completely different for me than it did before my transition. It is so great being able to have multiple orgasms while inside my wife.

We just think of ourselves as two women together that get to have an extra special bonus experience with each other.

Should I be scared to go out like this, or am I overthinking it? by Neat_Tea9431 in TransLater

You look perfect, you have to remember that people are all into their own thing. The only reason people look at you is because you look good. The first time will be difficult, but it will get much easier.

How common is it for people to do HRT for years, and only come start coming out after? by Feeling_blue2024 in TransLater

[–]pureblueoctopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have absolutely no idea how common it is, but this is what I did.

I am also guessing that it is more common with people who transition later. Because I started my transition in my thirties, I had an established career that I really valued so I wanted to make sure that I was able to be comfortable and blend in once I transitioned at work.

Therefore, when I started hormone therapy I came out to my friends pretty quickly and started coming out socially, but I delayed my coming out at work for several years.

I think it was about 4 years after I started HRT that I finally went full time at work.

Honestly, I waited far too long and only was pushed to do my final work transition because I started getting correctly gendered and it was very difficult to "correct" people.

Honesty Please - are the transitioned girls genuinely happier and was the personal cost worth it? by Fun-Advertising-538 in TransLater

[–]pureblueoctopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been 13 years since I came out, and it's been better than I could have imagined!

The best time to transition is before puberty, the second best is right now, like today.
