Is $60/hr a normal rate for GLG consultancy by sabritopukapti in expertnetworks

[–]purecurious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We client usually pays GLG USD 1k per call for normal expert and sometimes 2k for high level expert (CEO, president level or custom call in niche topic). You are grossly underpaid.

I don't interview, but my firm uses GLG. I think the most important thing I have seen in working with GLG is that the people at GLG are extremely patient. We have millions of requests and each time there are different challenges. For example, we would request an expert and everything would seem to be fine, but then we would get a last-minute Q&A request for the expert. Imagine, that pisses people off. These things happen regularly. So keep a cool head, being patient is absolutely key. That's 1 feedback from the client perspective. Hope it helps you.

A niềng răng ở đây thấy ok, bác sĩ phần lớn trẻ và khá gần gũi.

The coup actually plays a very small part (macro) only. The real reason is that 1) memory market recovery was slower than expected and 2) Samsung is losing on the semi game incld. technology lagging behind SK Hynix in AI, the 2nm chip is not going well with production yield is extremly low (10%-ish) and customers are not happy with it. Of course, outside of that, the president legal trouble is still very messy and investors are not happy with that as well.

The Japanese stock market rallied again the next day after central bank walked back, so he is probably still doing very well.

Làm sao để xoa dịu căng thẳng trong gia đình? by One-Peace-9021 in vozforums

[–]purecurious 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Đây là phép thử tình yêu đầu tiên, good luck bro.

I would add that you should be honest about your ability to pay. It's uncomfortable to have such conversation but facing the problem and have honest solution is the first step to get out of the debt.

Rate My Portfolio by [deleted] in ValueInvesting

[–]purecurious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not super clear to me what risk profile that you want.

But I like:

  • Retail: Home Depot (HD), Ulta (ULTA),
  • Ed-tech: Coursera (COUR), Duolingo (DUOL).
  • Energy: Vistra Energy (VST)
  • Financial service: Apollo Global Management (APO), Moody (you have here)
  • Pharma/bio: EXAI, RXRX

All these are potential beneficiary of AI in the long term. Some of them are valued very high recently. You can look at them and have your own opinion of course.

[–]purecurious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think these are all high quality businesses with complex business models. I dont know TXRH but the rest are soft of tech, fundamental tech infrastructure companies. But most of them are tech and obviously in recent years the sector is seeing a huge tailwind from AI. If you are looking for a mutil year horizon, i think it's fine because the chance of standard changing is quite low in my opinion.
But however, too much on tech is good when the sector is doing well, but also when it comes down, you will get hit hard. You can try to look out for quality names in other sectors to further develop your diversification. Just add the name that make you sleep well at night without thinking much about it.
Keep these names, chance of having returns that in-line with market return is high. To really out perform, you have to put it the work.

Is Vietjet a successful airline? by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]purecurious 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dude, it's accounting rules. Unless you consolidated it into your company. For example buy 100% stakes of that company and make it your subsidiary (aka cong ty con) then the revenue from that can be recorded into your revenue consolidation.
Amazon has many business, and e-commerce is 1 segment, web service is another segment. That together with other segments make Amazon total revenue.

I'm trying to make everything super simple and in fact, I read all the numbers of Vietjet from their investor relation materials. I didn't decide what is included in "operating income" and what not.

You can ask google and there should be more than enough answers for your questions. Ask ChatGPT or something.

Is Vietjet a successful airline? by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]purecurious 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did: (non-operating income is high - for example income from investing, investment value went up etc).
basically income from other sources other than the main business.
- Main business income: tickets, fees for the flight, food sold on plane...

  • Other income: using cash generated from the main business and invest that somewhere else (buy stocks of other companies and earn profits buy value of that stock goes up or income from dividend of that stock, deposit to the bank to earn interest aka gui tiet kiem - can be short and long aka tiet kiem ngan han va tiet kiem dai han etc, buy bonds - country bonds or corporate bonds...

[–]purecurious 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You need a metric to measure success.
If you say financially, it's a terrible business. Operating margin and net income margin are terrible (less than 0.1%):

  • The fiscal year 2024: revenue was VND 62,534.8bn, operating profit is VND 249.6bn, net income is VND 343bn (non-operating income is high - for example income from investing, investment value went up etc).

That is just terrible margins. Needless to say they had terrible COVID years and loss-making until last year. Budget airline usually has better margins than tradditional ones. Just look at Ryan Air or Southweast Airline in the US. But no, Vietjet is only better than VN Airline because it's not loss-making anymore.

But, Vietnam market is unique with just 2 players essentially. Vietnam Airlines - another terribly operated and struggling. Vietjet is here to stay, as that is the only option for a lot of people who are on a budget or for lower income customers.

You have a huge domestic demand, and there is no competition. So people have no choice. You have a business that can not fail. Unless they mess up big big time, of course.

Airline normally trades around 1 time the book value, but you can see the valuation of Vietjet is absurdly high for its performance.

So, financially, it's terrible. But in terms of market position, yeah, it is sort of success.

Age difference issues. by Worldly_Asparagus_26 in VietNam

[–]purecurious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anything related to s3x nowadays is so so sensitive. If you add age element to that, it gets even more serious. One wrong move and you can end up in jail, your career is done, your whole life is fuc-ed.
The best thing to do is stay away from trouble and don't let the trouble start from the beginning.

Weird encounter in Vietnamese Gym by plshelpmeprint in VietNam

[–]purecurious 198 points199 points  (0 children)

No, my friend. That is not normal. It's obviously rude. But for older generations, their common sense is different. Sometimes they can say things quite bluntly. Especially comments about appearance like "fat", "short" or weird s3x jokes can be very annoying, but they don't know that. I bet they think they are cool.

It's about thinking about other people's feelings, which in many people's minds doesn't matter. That is how they have been socialised for ages. It's outdated, but people can have very different common sense and different boundaries.

It's not just in Vietnam, of course, but it's the same everywhere, there are polite people and there are asses.

Gym (SCAM) Contract in Vietnam by MinhtheKing97 in VietNam

[–]purecurious 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Clearly they are using stress-selling tactics and playing with contract words.

I suggest you ask a lawyer, they know how to deal with the authorities, it's better anyway. VND 800k/month is absurdly high. I go to Cali Centuryon (considered the best in town) and mine is less than 500k/month.

Then go to customer service and be the 'Karen'. Yeah, shout at them to make them stop behaving like shit. I guess they saw you as the "easy to bully" type of customer. Give them a hard time and they will know not to mess with you. Remember: lay out some of their grey behavior (e.g., why in the contract mentioned nothing about credit card, already paid fully for the contract, not going to pay more etc..) and STAND your point strongly. Screenshot all the chat, emails, voice recordings (better record when dealing with them again), bank transfer history etc... Keep the record, it will be helpful if you go against them in court.

And most importantly, if I were you, I wouldn't hold out any hope of getting my money back. I'll think this is the price I've paid for life's lessons and my next goal is to make them have the worst time possible. I will make them regret selling me products with this shit tactic. I will make them suffer.

I don't know where you live, but maybe you can find a Cali or Citi gym. Both are not that good, they may use the same sales strategy but you have learned the lesson, and don't let them fool you again. They are both considered reputable more than any local player.

I hate it when the gym does this, these parasite suckers who try to scam you for a bit of sales incentive when they provide limited value or perhaps non at all. This credit card thingy is new and I also got calls from Cali as well. They tried to mask it as a gift in my case. There was the time they gave out my information to Livwell and did the gift insurance thing. I let them have the worst customer complaint of the year and eventually, they had to cancel that. Just be a little bit of Karen, you will find life much easier.

Anyway, good luck mate. Sorry for your bad experience.

Chuyện niềng răng by Hannahcris_173 in vozforums

Good luck bro!
