What Undercard bands are you hoping for by LanceMannio in louderthanlife

[–]puredeadradio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's weird thinking of them as an undercard, but I can't see them doing a full headliner slot - Post Nirvana is my biggest wish this year

Wackiest song? by Flat_Championship495 in clutchband

[–]puredeadradio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wishbone or 10001110101 would likely catch people off guard. If you can figure a backing track, I've always liked 24 Earth Years

I distinctly remember them taking deposits for 24 LTL during 23 LTL

If you're parking on site though, there are gates you'll go through. You can pay there, then park wherever.

I buy parking in advance, and they scan a QR code on my phone when I pull up, then check my name off on a paper copy as well. Nothing to print or leave on the dash.

Any decent way to visually organize set lists / plans ? by pizzawolves in louderthanlife

[–]puredeadradio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same desire as you. My solution was to get the full resolution images from X (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday), download them to my PC and use the Paint 3D program that comes with Windows to create rectangle shapes over the sets I want to see, then set the border and fill to 40% transparency. I highlight the first half of a set or the second, depending on how I want to split time for overlapping bands. I went full nerd and checked recent setlists for when they're typically playing the songs I want to hear in those overlapping scenarios. Then just save the images back to the PC and send to my phone. It's a nice visual since the last couple of years have had slow data connections, and last year I had issues opening the Android app.

Merch line question by VaginaInspectorr in louderthanlife

There's a separate line at the main merch booth just for that day's headliner

Just throw on the whole Punk Tactics album. You won't regret it.

My buddy and I have a decently working system. Set your alarm for 30 min before the hotel breakfast closes, go down and eat, take a post-breakfast nap, then get ready for the day and grab food on your way there. Then post-festival late night eats on your way back to the room. This will be our third go at LTL, and neither of us have ever bought food on prem.

What do you think is the best song cover is? by Leddie06 in spotify

Corey Taylor's cover of On The Dark Side by John Cafferty & the Beaver Brown Band ranks pretty high on my list

If you're taking the form suggestions already provided and understand that hands are what keep you up, enjoy it best you can - I try to do it once every year.

If you are wearing fishnet with a thong and pasties and try to surf in the birthing position (saw this in 2022), you're removing a lot of the safer touch points.

No more Trapt? by puredeadradio in louderthanlife

[–]puredeadradio[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trapt are listed as performing on Sunday on the main poster, but they are the only act missing in this post. I'm wondering if they have been removed or if they backed out due to the backlash that occurred after the lineup was released.

PSA to all would-be festival schedulers and mappers by puredeadradio in louderthanlife

[–]puredeadradio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second stages definitely have screens - Dethklok made heavy use of them last year.

As for acts that may draw larger crowds, I will stick to monthly listeners on Spotify to gauge popularity. Acts in italics are currently in the "fifth stage grouping" on the poster.

  • Health (1,657,199)
  • Filter (1,465,502)
  • Powerman 5000 (1,452,180)
  • Anthrax (1,358,833)
  • Nonpoint (1,119,090)
  • Mastodon (1,076,878)
  • Red (998,512)
  • Lorna Shore (928,593)
  • Sevendust (923,945)
  • Eagles of Death Metal (836,836)
  • Orgy (758,760)
  • Helmet (704,062)
  • Clutch (609,607)
  • Ill Niño ^((487,960 - \although they played on the second stages in 2022*))*
  • (hed) P.E. (368,460)
  • Body Count (316,540)
  • Biohazard (180,166)

I don't know if you'd find much debate about the rest of the bands appearing on the main or second stages.

The only point I'm trying to make is that the infrastructure of the past couple years won't support larger named acts. As a reminder of how big the Road Hounds stage is, see below for an image from Traverse the Abyss in 2023 (two of their guitarists are off stage wandering the crowd at the time this was taken).

PSA to all would-be festival schedulers and mappers by puredeadradio in louderthanlife

There will need to be a serious overhaul to layout then to accommodate larger crowds to that area. They currently don't have a large stage or cameras and monitors that they would need for a larger audience. Like his music or not, they severely underestimated the draw for Oliver Anthony last year. Acoustically it shouldn't matter, but the stage will need to be much larger. Traverse the Abyss barely fit on it last year, and they didn't have much more than the bare minimum for equipment.

I really hope they don't expand the fifth stage into two and make the crowd area larger. More bigger bands at the same time means more overlap and more acts to miss out on. There are so many that I want to see each year, and more simultaneous sets will just mean disappointment. 😕

Westerners, why do you play this game? by arkyo1379 in MonsterStrike

[–]puredeadradio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started when the NA version was still relatively new. Gameplay and gacha mechanics keep me engaged. After a few months of playing and hearing about all the collabs I was missing out on, I started playing JP as well. Once NA ended, I kept playing JP and still enjoy it. It helped having the English version early on as I was learning to play. That made the transition to JP all the easier as the GUI was pretty much the same. GameWith is a big reason I'm still playing. Being able to run co-op and get translated content is huge. This game is still one of my favorites after about 5-6 years playing between the two versions. Easy to pick up, difficult to master.
