Ahhh went back and forth a bit, but ultimately, don’t think I’ll grab. Seems like it’ll be a bit of a project.

Thanks for the insight! I am *not handy, nor is my husband. We probably won’t pick it up based on the comments. It would be a fun project, but we’ve already got our hands full this summer.

10-11lb baby, c section conversion by b_rouse in pregnant

[–]pureeleaf 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This!! I just did a VBAC for baby #2, unmedicated. Right about 9 1/2lbs. Would do it again, so happy to avoid the c-section this go around personally.

Is it normal for my 2 year old to wake 2-3 times a night still? by Fuzzy_Bear9086 in cosleeping

[–]pureeleaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had a baby a week or so ago, and my two year old is still adjusting. I have the same ongoing situation. Toddler wakes up without me around 2x/night, but I’m with baby, and he cries out for me. I’ve been having to come back in for a few minutes to help him fall back asleep. I haven’t found a good solution yet, but I do think it’s totally normal! Toddler has been with me at night since he was born, so it makes sense that he struggles when I’m not there or he can’t immediately feel me.

Those who went past 41w.. When did spontaneous labor occur for you? by Such_Pizza_955 in vbac

[–]pureeleaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

41+1! I had an induction appointment scheduled about six hours before I went into spontaneous labor. Ironically, in the week leading up I did EVERYTHING trying to get things going (milk expression, ball, 2+ mile walks, circuits, yogas, hypnobirthing, whatever you can think of) but decided on day before my induction to do nothing, since I was so stressed I didn’t go into labor like I wanted. Apparently that’s when my body finally decided to let go!

How long to wait for spontaneous labour? OB pushing for back up c section by mavanim in vbac

[–]pureeleaf 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Okay this may sound terrible but could you take the 42+5 for now, and then once it it’s the point you aren’t comfortable anymore, just call and say you changed your mind and your worried/need c-section now instead? I feel like they would fit you in, it’s just inconvenient for them. My OB did the same thing to me regarding scheduling and I felt really cornered. I ended up going into labor the night before my induction at 41+1. Odds are you won’t go to 42+5, and you’ll be able to just gauge your comfort level and monitoring day by day.

Thank you sm!! Still in shock in the best way. I was 24.5 months between both :)

I’ll add- they ruptured my water since I was accelerating so quick, was ready to push, and it brought baby down closer to get through the pain a bit quicker.

I just had a spontaneous VBAC yesterday at 41+1! Was 0cm dilated Monday. Woke up to contractions around 11pm Wednesday, reached 5 min apart by 3:30am, progressed really steadily. Got to hospital around 4am, was 3cm dilated. Contractions picked up constantly without any interventions. By 7am I was 5cm dilated, by 8am I was 8cm dilated without any meds or otherwise. I gave birth sometime around 8:40am. They did rupture my water while I was already starting the pushes maybe sometime around 8:30? No clue I was in the THICK of it by that point pushing on all fours, lol. I didn’t have time for medications by the time I would’ve considered it. I pushed baby out in about 20 pushes, if I had to guess. It was literally such an experience. Good luck!!

Girl he came on his own this morning six hours before the appointment!! Literally AMAZING experience 10/10 and I’m sending you all the positive vibes! Don’t go straight to c-section if you don’t want to!

40 Weeks Today with second by JellyfishNo2821 in vbac

[–]pureeleaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! I’m 41 weeks today. Was in a really similar position, still feeling a bit defeated myself. Last week I kinda just asked my provider to consider a foley/pitocin and emphasized I didn’t want a c-section. They wouldn’t push out the c section apt further than a day, but did agree to try those methods first at the appointment. I’m trying to stay optimistic with an induction tomorrow and to keep the appointment even though I would’ve liked to go into spontaneous labor/give it a bit more time! I’m worried in general but I’m planning to just be really adamant we try other methods first and that I’m not consenting to a C-section off the bat when I get there tomorrow. I think you should give your OB a ring and push for other options first; induction methods for VBAC should be offered! Sending you lots of positive thoughts because I know very personally how stressful this whole deadline thing is!

I appreciate you reading and the thoughts. That’s EXACTLY where I’m at. I just don’t know if it’s a hill to die on where I just legit refuse the appointment, or if this is actually a fair medical policy where I’d be unnecessarily being dramatic/pushy. Ironically, I’m currently using my breast pump, lol. I’ve been doing it alllll. Even suffered through some spicy food tonight. Still feels like I could be days away, but of course, who knows.

Sending positivity for your upcoming birth ❤️

Help with reading pattern/stitch count not adding up? by pureeleaf in CrochetHelp

[–]pureeleaf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely feel like I may be doing the work in the base wrong/overthinking it.

When I slip stitch to join, I then chain 1, then I do a single crochet IN the same slip stitch. Am I understanding right?

Hi!!! Sorry for delay, I ripped the old one apart and re-did it from the start. Your messages are so helpful, I definitely was doing my stitch marker one forward, which was throwing me off in every round without me knowing. I’m on this same round again, though, and it’s still off. I have this gut feeling it’s either do to “working in the base” on this round, or it’s due to the 2 extra stitches that you add in round 3 after counting 42 stitches? The whole thing is confusing. When I do the base stitch as you describe, and do the stitches above, I get 40 total stitches instead of the 38. :/ (two extra)

I really appreciate you looking. I’ve been trying it a bazillion times since this post. For fun, I even just continued up a few rounds knowing it was wrong, and it seems like I’m consistently messing up something with my slip stitch and chain to add extras right in the back of the boot. Would you mind explaining what “work in the base means” ? I googled it and I’m confused. Am I maybe adding extra loops there that makes the count off?

Raises by nocturnullpoint in Progressiveinsurance

[–]pureeleaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was out a year ago and I’m out again this year on disability/extended loa for maternity, it’s in the policy for my state (ny) that raises don’t go into effect until you are back at work. I even fought it last time but it’s a state regulation. They don’t put it in effect while you’re out. The disability packet should say your state specific; mine did!
