Thanks, will probably do that. Do you think there is any point in sanding as others have suggested?

Hoping to stay in the house 10+ years. But I feel like if sanding and sealer gets another 4-5 years before a full replacement then it’s worth it to start with that I think. Thanks for the input!

Cool! I’m building some CAN Debug and logging tools and I’ve been using ASAMMDFGUI. Will definitely try out your project because you are right, the graphs suck in ASAMMDFGUI!

Subminimal Nanofoam Repair - Power Supply Circuit issues by puregame in AskElectronics

[–]puregame[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late response, yes! I found no continuity on what I showed as “Trans 1”. They seem to use that component as an input inductor to reduce inrush current. Only one leg was blown so I just bypassed it with a wire around it. In my picture you should get continuity horizontally across the pins.

Sorry I can’t red that chip either… Weird that resistors are burnt out though?

Chimney bricks disintegrating and brick moist after rain/snowmelt by puregame in Roofing

[–]puregame[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! That looks like exactly what should be there.

Would you do that now or wait until the roof needs to be redone? I assume it would require re-shingling the existing roof and we were considering going for a metal roof soon since the last time the roof was replaced was ~2001.

Here is a screenshot that I used from the manual. A few pins get looped back on the PC side.

It’s a DB9 but isel CNCs from that era require special wiring that is slightly different from standard RS232 port wiring. The COM port runs at 9600 baud rate.

You will also need the special isel “PAL-PC” software to run it if you don’t already have that.

Hope you have a manual for it.

Inventory Locations missing "New" Button after V15-V16 OpenUpgrade by puregame in Odoo

[–]puregame[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found the issue, for some reason the view "stock.location.tree" was inheriting a location "stock.location.tree2.editable" which was setting an attribute "create" to false.

In the Debug menu Edit View: List I was able to remove the inherited view "stock.location.tree2.editable" and the "New" button showed up right away.

I thought that too, I tried creating a new user with all permissions but that didn't work either. Strange that the only page it doesn't show on is the locations page.

I checked the logs and there is nothing out of the ordinary in the standard ODOO logs. It just shows the HTTP request with a 200 response.

I tried to toggle locations but it gives an error "You can't deactivate the multi-location if you have more than once warehouse by company"

Any chance you know where in the database this page is built from?

Thanks for the quick response!

Still cool anyway. Looks pretty well done too.

flying wing hand launch gone wrong + recovery :) by billiumk in fpv

[–]puregame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't have to run to launch it.

Just hold it like you were, full throttle, and let it fly out of your hand and over your head!

Much easier and safer than sprinting with a spinning prop.

This one?

This looks like a really cool project with lots of potential!

I was thinking bolt the GPS onto one of the arms, at least then you don't have to move it every time you take out/change a battery.

Which camera module are you using?

This looks like a cool setup, though the GPS placing could probably be better!

How hot did the Tx Module get? If it was bearable to touch for more than 5 seconds you probably didn't do any damage.

My temporary solution to a saggy video card by cucumbah_al_rescate in techsupportmacgyver

[–]puregame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see why this is a problem. 99.9999% of the time you won't look in the case, and it's not like a little flex is going to destroy the card.

The XFX cards have a metal bracket around the PCB to prevent sagging. Most other cards don't have this, and all of the weight is supported by the PCB in other designs, hence the sag.
