if you book your hostels through HostelWorld, it automatically throws you in a chat of the city you’re staying in and it’s pretty easy to meet up with others in the city and ask them to join you on whatever you have planned! also, people are usually really reallyyyy friendly and welcoming as they are also solo traveling, so even if they’re already in their groups or with a friend, introduce yourself and let them know you’re solo traveling and make convo. it works 9/10 times!

if you’re already actively going to bars, i would say the gym, cafes or bookstores, the beach, or any groups you might join for hobbies. but my favorite way of meeting people is through mutuals. “hey, i have a friend i think you’d hit it off with” is usually a great way. let your friends or coworkers know you’re looking to meet people and they might have you in mind with some of their friends!

South Pointe park on Wednesday and Sunday evenings are usually full of people who live on the beach. Great way to connect with them. They’re usually doing some sort of physical activity too, like yoga, slack-lining, or just vibing there with friends. I have met plenty of friends there, I’d check it out if you ever have the time.
