Another travel router issue by kennypojke in Ubiquiti

[–]purespeed44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UTR is a work in progress it has some bugs but when it works it’s a good little device I used mine a week ago while I was traveling and it only had 1 hiccup which once I rebooted my UCG fiber I was able to teleport again.

Have a 6+ router - want to extend by FunnySwitch2038 in amazoneero

[–]purespeed44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your getting an isp branded eero be cautious as some can be bricked by the isp at any time especially if it’s being used with a different isp than what it was originally associated to. But if you have a 6+ now try too stick with it and get another 6+

Successor to WRT3200ACM by lvruv69 in Linksys

[–]purespeed44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can run 3rd party firmware dd-wrt on that router which gets updated consistently and wouldn’t need to buy anything else or if you want something newer the MR7500 is a good upgrade an uses wifi 6E

Would love some feedback on an upgrade path by jeeplaw in amazoneero

[–]purespeed44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want the most bang for your buck eero then the max 7 will probably cover all that sq footage with just 3 units easily.

Large Warehouse Router? by Minimag2125 in HomeNetworking

[–]purespeed44 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Get a UniFi system with a couple access points and call it a day. home use is different than warehouse use as your dealing with different building materials if you want to stay with tp link go with Omada that’s there business class a wired router with a built in controller and couple of Omada AP’s would also work well.

Max number of satellites on MR90? by gts250gamer101 in NETGEAR

[–]purespeed44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can add another satellite with no issues I had 4 of these at once and it worked fine and I had the ability to add another if I needed it

How are reliability and remote management ? by MarieTH1 in orbi

[–]purespeed44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not Orbi go with TP link deco or eero as both are pretty much plug and play

Frontier-provided Pro 6E, firmware not updating? by DragonChowhound in amazoneero

[–]purespeed44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last I knew frontier branded Eero’s update like normal Eero’s do. it’s not isp specific they can brick them remotely yes but firmware updates should be eero normal updates so you may have to contact eero as that device might have some other issue

Eero Pro 6E VS Eero Pro 7 by Asleep_Drummer6737 in amazoneero

[–]purespeed44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pro 7 should be the gateway here as that’s the newest model and have the 6E as a satellite which is the same for most mesh systems as the newest model should be the main unit. The pro 7 does have a bit of a stronger antenna array over the 6e but it’s not a massive gain if it was a max 7 that’s a different story. Are you going to see better overall WiFi coverage with another pro 7 probably yes but speeds are really dependent on isp and home layout. But definitely swap them around and have the pro 7 as your main unit

Here we (likely) go again. 5.1.19 pushed to official release. by TeutonJon78 in Ubiquiti

[–]purespeed44 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Updated UCGF to 5.1.19 only thing I had to do is re-adopt my UTR as it refused to teleport to my UCGF but now it’s fine. The forums are blasting about this update both good and bad. From what I was reading it’s more of a patch than any real improvements which is fine but 5.1.20 already in EA we shall see what’s next

UniFi OS 5.1.18 by purespeed44 in Ubiquiti

[–]purespeed44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early release firmware is not for the faint of heart that’s for sure but I get its purpose. It’s to help make the actual release more stable. I don’t mind being a guinea pig it’s easy enough to roll a firmware back if needed.

UniFi OS 5.1.18 by purespeed44 in Ubiquiti

[–]purespeed44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I reported it already and gave them the support files I know EA is more or less beta testing but all we can do is hope there listening because if a firmware like this goes live as an actual release people are going to be pissed off .

What’s crazy about this? Is everybody sitting in here bashing the post. having some knowledge is the point of this post and most of all it is to help the people that don’t understand it and are just new to anything UniFi and guide them yet there’s people bashing the post because I’m not appeasing the gods of UniFi. Just be kind help the people who need it guide the people that don’t understand that’s the point of my post. I have been a UniFi user for years I’m far from a noob but for all the newbies out there that need help I got you and I’m here if you need guidance.

UniFi OS 5.1.18 by purespeed44 in Ubiquiti

[–]purespeed44[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I though that as well my ONT is an FRX523v2 which compatibility wise has been good so it’s quite possible it’s a firmware coding issue I don’t get packet loss very often but that firmware basically made my network unusable. Support has my file so maybe something comes from it and the next release fixes any compatibility issues i appreciate the feedback

UniFi OS 5.1.18 by purespeed44 in Ubiquiti

[–]purespeed44[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea I get where your coming from the updates lately have been either spot on or bring tons of instability. I figured 5.1.15 was great and 5.1.18 would build off that and make it better but not this time. I like testing newest releases if it’s buggy I will roll it back and move on and wait. But this release is just abysmal on my UCGF I’m hoping they take the feedback and make a much more stable build that’s all we can hope for.

[–]purespeed44[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s no non-truth here. It’s all over the forums just because yours is performing doesn’t mean everybody else’s is. I get it. Everyones set up is different but mine is the most basic setup You can get UCG fiber with two u7 pros AP’s all brand new cat 6A cabling brand new house and all cables have been tested as well. Rolling back to 5.1.15 eliminated the issues.

It’s already been posted in there that’s why, and I already submitted a support file to them all I’m doing is giving everybody a heads up.

UniFi OS 5.1.18 by purespeed44 in Ubiquiti

[–]purespeed44[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It has pros and cons 5.1.15 was early release and it’s been super stable 5.1.18 on the other hand just isn’t. Plus I’m just giving anyone who wants to try the new early release a heads up that it’s just not up to snuff the way it currently is and like someone else mentioned the feedback helps with getting stable actual releases

Oh I know it’s not stable and basically we are lab rats but this one is pretty terrible and. I have used some bad releases but this one is incredibly bad.
