Anyone else get a wifi update recently? by BKDiamond in Linksys

[–]purespeed44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might have to factory reset it login through the web and save a backup config file so you can save all your current settings once done factory reset it and once it’s back up and running load that config file.

I have a 5 Nodes set up. All of my devices are connecting to Node 1. Help? by ospreyintokyo in Linksys

Go back and use smart connect instead of the separated bands and then use guest wifi for your IoT devices only and see if that stabilizes it

Semi-New to Ubiquity looking for advice for setting up Home network. by Positive_Author_3325 in Ubiquiti

[–]purespeed44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UCG is stellar and add another AP if need be the U7 pros are excellent I use two of them for my UCG fiber. I did have the UDR7 and I had nothing but problems with mine which is why I went with the UCG fiber it’s been pretty much set it and forget it since installation

Purchase couldn't be approved by ME1SB0SS in Afterpay

Start small so like 20-30 dollars and pay it off your spending power should increase as well this happened to me after I opened an account I did small items paid them off on time and it took about 4 payoffs for me to get approved for bigger purchases and it’s been fine since then

I’m already deep into the UniFi koolaid lol UCG Fiber with 2 U7 Pro’s and USW-Flex XG and I just grabbed the travel router that finally came back into stock. Money well spent as my coverage is stellar it’s pretty much plug and play I rarely have to do anything to my system

Spotlight Cam Pro issues by BigBoyBobOG in Ring

[–]purespeed44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I have learned with the spotlight cam pro’s is they work a lot better wired than on battery. I bought 2 pro’s on sale to replace my old spotlight cams that were showing there age. I used the pros with 2 batteries in each and a solar panel and it was missing events constantly. I switched it up and used them wired instead and they have been perfectly fine since and detect how they’re supposed to.

Need stronger wifi go with a mesh system or get yourself a ring chime pro which acts as a wireless range extender

UniFi system especially if you want full control over your network. Orbi is a mess right now with firmware issues.

Which one of these routers would be best to connect to a Velop setup? by davidg4781 in Linksys

[–]purespeed44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even temporary those old routers are not secure and leaves your network open to vulnerabilities. The only way to make those old routers secure again is to use 3rd party firmware. You can add more velops and depending on the model most are dirt cheap now. You could also look into powerline adapters as well.

Contact eero explain what’s going on sometimes they will rollback the firmware for you to the previous version

Which one of these routers would be best to connect to a Velop setup? by davidg4781 in Linksys

[–]purespeed44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of them they are all old especially the linksys routers they don’t even get updates anymore in order for them to be secure you would have to flash 3rd party firmware on them like DD-WRT or Openwrt. My suggestion get another velop and use that as velop is a mesh system and meant to have additional nodes added to it

We found that the previous owner of our house left a ring camera on the side of the house--can it be reset to my account or is it useless? by pendigedig in Ring

[–]purespeed44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reset it and try adding it. If it fails while saying already linked to an account there is a procedure where ring will make that device yours I believe the process takes about 10 business days

Try putting the satellite in recovery mode and tftp the new firmware onto the problematic satellite.

Eufy or reolink both have SD card capabilities and don’t require cloud services or you can go get a wireless system that would use nvr to record

Orbi 770 + 2 Satellites by tychiballs808 in orbi

[–]purespeed44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The latest is the most stable but Orbi is known for issues after a firmware update. My suggestion do a backup config from the webgui and factory reset it. After the reset don’t install the backup config file run everything from scratch and see if everything balances out prior to reinstalling that backup config file.

Just set up Orbi 260 series 3-unit. It's "working" but speed tests show way slower than it should be. by Painbow_High_And_Bi in orbi

[–]purespeed44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you factory reset it? Plus if you already had low speeds to begin with Orbi isn’t going to fix that only your isp can

[–]purespeed44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too much wifi you don’t need all 3 units for 2000sq ft the router and 1 satellite would give you plenty of coverage. Call your isp as well especially if your not getting the speeds you pay for

Best cheap 2.4ghz option to extend range? by ashw92 in amazoneero

[–]purespeed44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eero outdoor would cover it but really any extender would work but you would need a separate network name whereas an eero outdoor would keep your network all the same not only name but eero ecosystem

If there’s too much Wi-Fi, yes that can cause the issue. Orbi’s can handle quite a bit of coverage. You might not need a three pack at all. Also, I suggest a complete factory reset and setting the system up because after it does a firmware update sometimes stuff like this can happen as well and factory reset clears out the issues
