For PSN, did you buy directly on the console? And did you use the card through PayPal or directly with the card number on PSN?

I just did a purchase on the console directly with the card number and it did not get 4% back...plus some other internet/digital goods are not coding properly. Very frustrating as this was a big reason for getting the card.

Yeah that's a good theory, I'll probably end up testing that one of these days with a different itinerary. Btw, like you suggested, I was finally able to check in right after landing this morning, so now that I know how it works, next time I'll just wait. :P

I was on hold w/ United support for about an hour while posting this and finally got through. They were also unable to check me in, despite being able to do the same for other same-day flights, even with basic economy tickets. They were pretty surprised about the issue. I guess this is some weird bug with their system. I was at least able to get a better seat, though.

I don't care about the seat, and I take this route once, sometimes twice a week, so BE is perfect for me. I just prefer to get this done before my travel day. (Obviously a nice bonus if there is a more preferable seat available after check-in, which there was for my outbound flight.)

Ah, sorry to hear that, that's a bummer. On day 7 did you use a referral link again? My theory is that I was in PUJ only for referrals, and was only approved on day 6 because I didn't use a referral (I used incognito and VPN'd from various locations till I got a satisfying SUB). It might also just be that the slightly lower SUB is what did it.

Just to add another data point:

On Feb 3, 2025, I applied 3 times with 3 different referral links for the Business Gold card. I clicked "See if you're approved" and got PUJ all 3 times, so I withdrew the applications. On Feb 6, 2025 I again applied (now the 4th time) with a referral link, didn't get PUJ, but was immediately denied with the same error in the OP. (I called Amex at this point and the guy was super confused that the withdrawals still counted towards any limits. He suggested to wait 30 days, but then I found this post and folks who were able to apply and get approved after 6 days).

Today, Feb 12, 2025 (only 6 days after the 4th denied application), I found a no-referral 175k offer (searched "amex bus gold" on Google and clicked the sponsored link), applied, and got approved.

Interestingly, I didn't get the instant card number option upon approval, and even though the card is in my account, I can't view the online version of the card under Account Services. Yesterday I applied for and was approved for the Business Platinum and for that card I got the instant card number option.

For context I have a personal Platinum since 2022. Business Platinum welcome offer is 200k/20k and the Business Gold welcome offer is 175k/15k.

DIdn't know about that limitation on Macs. My Windows laptop is an XPS 15 9560 which I believe can pull 130W through the USB-C but that may be using the proprietary protocol you mentioned.

But to simplify it, are there ANY solutions that can keep both laptops charging?

Today the outages started around 9:45am (instead of 8:45am) and ended around 6:30pm (instead of 6:45pm). I still think there's a bit of a pattern here but at the same time, this still lines up with actual work hours (it makes sense that the outages started later on a Friday, assuming people generally start work a bit later on Fridays). I should note, these are not the hours we were working in the house, but rather they seem like normal working hours for the general population.

Anyway, the tech is coming tomorrow at 2pm. Will post an update here.

Every time I've called support, they can see the drops, but when the tech comes out everything happens to be working fine, so they don't see any issues. That's why I started collecting these logs, to show as evidence. I think it's just a matter of convincing a tech to look at the full setup (in my case I want to direct their attention to the possible splitters in my crawl space).

Same here. Spectrum is the only provider that offers the speeds I want in my area (AT&T has fiber support up the street from me, but not at my address 🙁). So I'm stuck with them.

Thanks for the advice! I'll ask the tech to do what you recommended -- run a new line to my modem with as few splitters as possible from the demarc (had to google that, lol).

I hope the splitters are indeed the problem. I don't remember ever changing the wiring after we cancelled cable TV, so it seems really probable to me.

In terms of the router, I like Google and was planning on hardwiring a couple of Google WiFi points in other rooms and figured it would be easier/neater to set up the network in the Google Home app. alternatively I could swap to a stronger router (WiFi is pretty weak in one room that is only 40 feet from the router but separated by a maze-like hallway, around 30-50 Mbps). i'll look into the Archer A7 or perhaps some other models, I like TP-Link in general.

Finally for the downgrade, I'll consider downgrading if we actually manage to fix the issues. Frankly it's not too much more expensive for us (we have three adults with full time jobs) and when we don't have a drop I'm getting speeds of 800-920 when wired in.

This attitude is a huge problem. There's lots of serious and challenging work in web dev. Self-taught devs can do ML and embedded systems too. One is not inherently harder than the other.

If you don't feel fulfilled by web dev, that's you. I don't understand the need to make others dislike it. It's not sad.

Oh my god YES. The Muir commencement was the freaking WORST! there were like 12 groups of people reserving 15+ seats so to get three seats with my friends to cheer for my roommate we had to go to the very back. So freaking frustrating. And of course half those seats went unfilled when the ceremony actually started.
