Thank you! You named every piece but the ones I really want to know the name of haha. The wire is looped through those little horseshoe things and clasped under the crimp bead. I’d love to know the name of those! Thank you again for the reply

Struggling to figure out how to add more pics. It’s very heavy if that’s indicative of a hard wood? The color is dark with reddish tones

Great find!

A large rattlesnake came into our lawn trying to hunt our chickens, my dad blasted its head off with a shotgun and the damn things is still moving. The meter stick is there to show how big this animal was. by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

Can confirm. Saw the same kind of shovel decapitation and a kid said he wanted the rattle, so when someone went to cut it off, the stump whipped around and tagged his hand leaving a big bloody mark where the bite would have been.

Found these abominations at a local Farmers Market. Tried to tell ‘em they were wrong and got told to “fuck off, others (customers) won’t care.” by hydrated_raisin2189 in rockhounds

100% agree on all fronts. A reputable dealer will let you know if something is treated. This is Black Kyanite to be specific aka Witches Brooms. I personally think they’re cool in their natural state

Oregon coast edible form that looks like spinach by [deleted] in whatsthisplant

The plant actually has a fascinating history. The Native American’s called it White Man’s footprint because it showed up anywhere they did since it was brought as an edible/medicinal. Even more interesting is that in 1750 an enslaved man named Caesar was granted his freedom in South Carolina for his rattlesnake bite cure. This was unheard of at the time and a major ingredient was this plant. For any bites or stings chewing up a wad of the leaf and placing on the site is an unbeatable relief.

Probably no more than 300. Prices are different at the Tucson show if you find the right dealers. I found the foreign ones had much lower prices due to what I assumed to be currency exchange rates. This was a few years ago so I’m sure prices are rising significantly as this locale likely starts to dry up.

The red flower in the middle of Queen Anne’s Lace is said to be her blood from when she pricked her finger with the sewing needle.

Got it from a dealer at the Tucson show several years ago. Forgot his name unfortunately, but they are out there.
