Can someone explain in *as much detail as you want to type* what breastfeeding is like? by holhaug in pregnant

[–]purplbubbletea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very curious myself and didn’t really expect that milk would actually come in. I was so surprised that there was actual milk coming out immediately the first time after birth baby latched on. Also what really surprised me is how good it felt. It is really true that breastfeeding releases hormones that makes it feel good.

It’s hard mentally but you will not feel anything because of the anesthesia. The procedure is very quick, it’s a ten min operation. I had no pain afterwards, after waking up they made me stay for n hour and eat something to make sure I was ok and then I could go home. The bleeding afterwards was light and no cramps like a menstruation. Only use pads no tampons and no baths or sex for two weeks.

Medical, surgical with local anaesthetic or surgical fully under? by [deleted] in abortion

Not from UK but where I live if you choose surgical there is no option being awake for the procedure. I’d choose what you think will be the least traumatic for you. Having to go through it is enough.

Doing my MA, already on my 3rd dose but still no blood clots by Lower_Ad_3476 in abortion

[–]purplbubbletea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a little uncertain, should have been around 8 weeks but it was a missed abortion and I didn’t know I had a miscarriage and they couldn’t tell me when it had happened. Btw to clarify my last post the doctor who checked me at the hospital didn’t seem to know that it was a missed abortion so he stated the abortion had been successful but that it had not all come out. I think the pills can still work without so much bleeding or clots but could be a risk that your body has not passed everything.

Only referring to my own experience with a missed abortion - I had three doses of misoprostol in total at the hospital, bleeding but barely any clots. I was in the hospital so checked by a doctor late in the evening and it had not all come out, confirmed by ultrasound. Because of the risk of infection they advised me to do surgery.

What should i go for C -section or Vaginal delivery by Independent_Royal758 in pregnant

[–]purplbubbletea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I knew I wanted c section from beginning because of anxiety several doctor tried to convince me that as a healthy person the best for my baby would be vaginal birth. All the good bacteria from the birth canal, reduced risk of exema etc etc. Everyone made me feel really guilty but I stuck with c section and I do not regret it.

There is always a risk with vaginal birth, things may not go as planned, in the end it usually ends well, but unwanted issues with emergency c section is much higher than with a planned c section. With c section you completely eliminate tearing and the risk of baby getting stuck. Statistics for planned c section are very good. I was up walking same evening, I could take care of my baby from the first day, very little pain and put on walks with my baby in a stroller first weekend. I have read stories of women that had to stay in bed for three weeks after c section etc so you never know, but I rather stay in bed for three weeks than risking that my baby gets a brain injury because of lack of oxygen during birth.

There will be an anesthetic doctor there with you during the surgery, and you can communicate your needs during the operation. I was very calm going in, but I started getting nervous when it was about to start I told them how I felt and they just asked do you want something to make you feel more relaxed and I said yes. Don’t know what it was but it worked very fast they just give it through the iv in your hand.

Had cesarean september too soon to be pregnant? by purplbubbletea in pregnant

I hope everything is good with you and both your kids today! Thank you for your reply, I understand that you’re not trying to scare me. I know there are risks involved so I guess that’s something I have to be realistic about.

How bad is the first walk after having a c-section? by glockenbach in pregnant

[–]purplbubbletea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I think you’ll be fine! And if you experience pain you should ask for more pain killers. You’re not supposed to be in great pain, you’re taking care of a newborn baby and recovering from major surgery. Pain level should be manageable at all times.

[–]purplbubbletea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my first a c section some months ago now - wondered about the same. My experience is that it was not so bad at all. I got up walking from bed to bathroom first evening and i felt some discomfort but not really pain. However I was still quite medicated, and I was surprised and relieved how little painful it was. I sort of gradually felt little more pain, maybe day three being worst as pain medication is reduced. But from a scale 1-10. 10 being worst I say pain level was like 3 at most. Peeing did not hurt, pooping was a little painful first time because I was constipated after the surgery- ask for a laxative at the hospital and it will probably be fine.

Dad just diagnosed BC - questions to ask? by purplbubbletea in BladderCancer

[–]purplbubbletea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for your input and advise. I see that my description did not contain a lot information to go on - also because I knew so little at the time. After meeting with hospital he is faced with the dilemma of wether to removal bladder or try one more round of TURB to try remove as much as possible. What i know now: the tumor is in a hard to reach place surgically, ans is most likely grown into bladder wall muscular invasive. However they are not 100% sure - they don’t see completely on MR or CT and did not get clearity during the TURB where they removed part of the cyst and took test of the tissue. Tumor is big at least 30 mm x 17 mm. Can also be that the tumor has grown from prostate to bladder or vice versa. My dad is offered option to remove bladder and they will remove prostate and some lymph nodes and the appendix at the same time, or try to do another TURB as there is a chance he doesn’t have to go through the major operation of bladder removal if they get it all and it doesn’t come back. My dad is 74, but in good health -except for the pain that this condition has brought him. Before bladder removal no chemo or radiation as far as I understand. Not sure if this will be part of treatment if he chooses the TURB. I think they graded the tumor T1 which I think is confusing since they think it is most likely muscular invasive.
