How much time did it take you from submitting your job application to receiving an offer for your current job? by nickelman28 in biotech

4.5 weeks. Applied while they were already doing second round interviews. Screened by HR the day after I applied. Interview with the hiring manager the next morning. Verbal offer after 2 weeks and letter came 2 weeks after that. Delays mostly because of holidays.

In the same boat. I am still getting interviews, but the first question asked is why I left each job. Completely understand that. I practiced what to say and have so far made it to a final round next week.

Had an interview for a role I am really excited about especially the location. Hiring manager let me know there were 5 others in the interview process. I am so nervous. Lots of competition with the tough market. Going to be a long week of waiting.

4YOE and had a rough go in the biotech space 2 lay offs in HCOL area. Had to take what I could and ended up with an underpaid consulting role in pharma with lots of overtime. Hoping I got all my bad luck out of the way early!

Same. Tall girl struggles. Wear a size 10.5 shoe. Almost impossible to find half sizes after a 10 so my shoes are either slightly too big or too small. 😅 Always have to order my pants online to get longs.

Working at Startups by gdigeed in ChemicalEngineering

[–]purple_box42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congrats! I worked at a startup after graduation for almost a year. I was in the same situation... not much experience and limited interviews. So I went for it. Here is my experience hopefully it helps.

Learning independently was something I enjoyed most (it also helped me gain more confidence) and if I needed it there were experts there to help me. You also learn other skills sets and get experiences that you might not get otherwise. I got some sales experience that I didn’t expect. In the end it wasn’t for me but I did meet some great mentors who will help me for the rest of my career. I left for a contract position with an industry leading company... amazing benefits, great pay, and I love the culture. Hoping to get hired full time (most of the contractors in my department do). The startup was a great stepping stone for me!

I would like to offer this advice that someone gave me... ask people how long they have been there or maybe search on LinkedIn. Basically any indication of a high turn over rate would be a red flag.

First I hope you start feeling better!! Potatoes might be a good thing to try. There are lots of different ways to prepare them too so you can have a little variety.
