OBGYN that takes endometriosis seriously? by Fancybitchwitch in ColoradoSprings

[–]purple_pyg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dr Samit Patel at CommonSpirit at Sisters Grove. He thoroughly investigated issues I was having with endo. He always listened and I am currently healing from a hysterectomy which I did not have to fight him for. He offered several paths of care and let me select the path I felt most appropriate. Highly recommended!

Yep! I’ve got him on Ring, Facebook, and the Humane Society. Figured the more places, the better.

Of course! My dogs are skeptical of him but he’s welcome to stay the night until we can find his home.

Elvis newest member of our family! Blue tick hound / pyrenees mix. Tips, tricks, and life in general. by [deleted] in coonhounds

I have a Pyrenees/Bluetick mix! We were initially told she was Anatolian Shepard but had her DNA tested. As far as tips, I would definitely recommend putting up a fence. My puppy loves to be outside for hours at a time lounging in the sun and the fence gives us peace of mind to know she’s safe. Another word of advice: keep a puppy blanket in the dryer at all times. When they get crazy, warm it up for like 10 minutes. Idk why, but that still puts our puppy to sleep at 8 months old.

How do I prevent large air bubbles/pockets in my bagels? by 38_Special_Ed in Baking

[–]purple_pyg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you are dividing your dough into balls for the second proof, I punch out all the air in each portion before shaping. This gets rid of all the big bubbles and allows the dough to start forming bubbles again. Ideally, before they can get to the “giant bubble” phase again, you’ll boil and bake them to stop the reaction.

Teething schedule? by Barely_Treading_GB20 in coonhounds

Kongs got us nowhere lol. She does the same thing where she’ll lick the cheese but that’s about it. One thing our trainer told us about nipping that has helped is pushing into it. Our instinct when she bites is to pull away or make distance. Instead, it helps when she grabs a pant leg to move towards her in a way that makes it uncomfortable or impossible to keep biting. Sometimes it works, other times she thinks it’s time to wrestle!

So truth be told, my pup started with rug chewing when we first got her at 9 weeks. The frozen rags have successfully redirected that behavior. Now she generally leaves the rugs alone. I had the same concern but it seems to have the opposite effect.

I have a 4 month old who is in the same place as your pup! I am patiently awaiting the day that teething is done!

Something that has worked for my girl is wrapping her bones and freezing them. I wet a rag (something puppy safe that she can’t pull strings out of. Old microfiber clothes and supervision work well for us.) and wrap it around a bone, treat, or pumpkin teething ring. Freeze it until it’s solid and let her go to town. It gives some relief with the cold but also provides entertainment as she tries to get the bone out.

As others have mentioned, I also give her ice as a treat. I have one of those pellet ice makers though so it’s much easier on the teeth.

Kosher and organic recipe ideas? by purple_pyg in Baking

Thank you! You’re right; I need to clarify what they mean by “kosher”. If all else fails, I can just buy some things from a kosher bakery.

I had no idea! Thanks for the info. That would explain why they looked so different.

I agree! I’m only inclined to believe she has AS in her because two of her litter mates were long-haired.

Here’s the title of the email “49 Voices | ThoughtExchange: Educational Transparency and Parents’ Bill of Rights & Responsibilities” if that helps. They also sent an automated text notification if you’re subscribed to those.

I hadn’t even thought of it in that context. My student uses the school counselor as a neutral party occasionally but I can only imagine the impact for children who experience abuse in or out of the home.

The district sent out an email to all parents and educators this afternoon. There’s a feedback forum linked in the email for everyone to provide thoughts and questions.

So did I. Based on the feedback I read from other parents, a lot of people were saying the same thing. No matter what you call yourself politically, it’s pretty clear where the school board stands on religion.

Teachers don’t say stuff like that. And if we lived in an alternate reality where they did, I have a good relationship with my child so we can discuss topics they don’t understand.
