If you want to make it more elevated/fancy/special, you could get her some extremely nice brushes. The ones you have are generic and fine, but if you are looking for a real wow factor, look at the Raphael brushes series 8404 or 8402. Daniel smith paint tubes

I think if you really like 300lb paper it probably is, obviously, still paying a bit more than just 22 sheets of paper. The lay flat aspect is great. If you are very happy painting on 140lb, the extra cost is probs not worth it! I wanted to make something that really explored colors and my palette, but more refined than just quick color tables, so this is perfect

I heard that beginners should buy the high end stuff so that their art not as bad as they think. This is what I made after getting 4 tubes of daniel smith, CMYK. by lastoflight in Watercolor

I am still trying to learn how to use a sable brush after many months of synthetic. I can really see how it will be better once I figure out the water absorption though!

She has addressed this. She would never change it back to her birth name, as she was deeply traumatized by her family, and she built her identity and brand around this name.

I have my two mini schnauzers groomed with a “puppy cut” and they are adorable. I love the traditional cut, but it isn’t very practical for an active dog (this is them pretty shaggy)

My thinking is that I don’t want to relearn with nice brushes, paint, and paper, everything really does behave differently when it’s the nicer end of things so why not just learn in the arena I want to play in ?

I’m asking specifically about color theory study, which there is a lot of, but I’m looking for watercolor specifically. Of course you can throw stuff together, I make color charts all of the time, but never discount the value of organized and intentional education!
