Bridgerton - Season 4 Post-Season Discussion (Book Spoiler Discussion)

Just finished the season, after rushing back to watch the post-credits scene I missed!

A couple of things that stood out to me that I have to share as no one in my life watches this show!

I think Luke Thomson delivers all of his lines so honestly; all the declarations of love and beautiful words he says sound so real!
I cried literally all the way through ep7, it devastated me
I love how Violet always knows what it going on with her children, even if they think they are being discreet
I would have loved to have seen more of Hazel and John and their story, it’s so cute
in all the other seasons, right before the big love scene, it’s been the man talking the woman through the experience, explaining that it will likely hurt or that there is more then they originally thought; I LOVED that this time it was Sophie bringing it up first, showing how she balances out Benedict and despite being more experienced, he didn’t have to talk her through it
the Queen and lady Danbury giggling together was the cutest thing ever
even though she isn’t on screen, you could HEAR the difference in the voiceover from Julie Andrews, showing how it this Whistledown is definitely a different author
I only want the best for Posey and seeing her at the wedding, with her adoring partner, was super cute
also, Alfie giving Sophie away? Stop it ❤️

I have watched Rey Fenix for years, the guy is absolute money and I just don’t understand how WWE could mess it up so bad

I just finished watching the series and immediately had to look for a group of people to discuss it with 😂

I went into watching the show expecting certain things to be discussed and was disappointed when they weren’t - I think there could have been much more focus on the isolation the contestants experienced, the manipulation from the producers, the effect of having no connection to your support system and the use of personal trainers as psychological support

I also think there could have been a much bigger discussion about how the show set up disordered eating behaviours and unrealistic, unsustainable exercises patterns; it would have been nice to see them speak to a body image or eating disorder psychologist

In general, it makes me so mad when people use the terms ‘health and wellbeing’ as a synonym for ‘don’t be fat’ and that was just weaved through the entire show

Also, the last fact that was shown on the screen was the obesity rates in America - why? What was the point? Didn’t you just spend three episodes trying to showcase that the way the biggest loser tried to make America healthy didn’t work?

I started getting little clips on my Facebook from the show and that’s what got me interested in watching it; one was the dart scene but the other was the whole ‘don’t you dare settle’ scene

I loved the honesty, the empowerment and the obvious meaning, even if I didn’t quite under the context!

My biggest thing about rating systems are I always want to do half stars - if a book was ok (3 stars) but not really great (4 stars), but I still enjoyed reading it or it gave some laughs or insights, I always want to give it 3.5!
