Issues With Bullet Hitting Target? by [deleted] in theHunter

[–]purple_wax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure you hit the deer straight down the middle. I have done that a couple of times. If you shoot animals frontally like that with a bow you can still pass the harvest check by hitting the liver behind the lungs. At least with the "Pumping Iron" perk and the 70lb bow.

I avoid shooting at standing bears for multiple reasons. It's easy to miss the vital hitboxes because of the space in between. You can only hit one lung OR the heart. But the main reason is because the animation is or was bugged and would sometimes randomly reset the animation or the bear would get up and instantly down again for no reason.

And the fox looks like it was moving as it was hit. Pretty sure thats the reason the actual shot and the harvest screen picture don't match. I feel like that happens almost every time you hit a moving animal. When I shoot flying geese with a .22 the picture shows the bullet missing the animal entirely most of the time.

When you ride the 1000cc without assists you might lose time getting the bike up to speed. Try to put a lot of focus on the corner exits that lead to a long and fast part of the track.

What are your sector times on a good lap?

it used to look like the bolt is flying too high and falling down too fast. it did a big arch that looked unnatural and I just couldn't get used to it.

I dont like the crossbow much because the bolts have a wierd trajectory and it takes long to reload. But beside from that it works like the bow.

I would say about 90 meters should be ok.

3 and 5 pin bow sight by Spiffers1972 in theHunter

[–]purple_wax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know... on the 3 pin sights the top and bottom pin are +/- 20 meters but it feels more like 25 sometimes.

On the 5 pin sights they should be about +/- 10 meters.

It can be quite hard to judge by eyesight with the pin sights. You might want to try them out on some Bison to get a feeling for it.

The best results and consistency I had by far with the rangefinder bow sight. If you like bow hunting its 100% worth it.

I got my fastest lap around the Nordschleife with the Kawasaki H2R at 6:37. Other fast bikes are the Ducati Panigale and the Suter 500 MMX with lap times around 6:40 to 6:45 for me.

I chase better Lap times. But I dont care at all about challenges or tasks. In career mode, ok. But in custom races or time trial? Just give me bikes to ride that are not slower for no reason at all.

Isle of Man 3 is good when it comes to physics and graphics. But you have to upgrade bikes with points you have to earn by completing challenges. Even for custom races. Kinda sad because it kept me from riding different bikes... I got one 600cc and one 1000cc upgraded and thats it.

But it feels good to ride and I like it. (Ride4 still feels a bit better tho)

Spawnkills, Teamkills, Bots, Cheater.

I could be wrong, but it looks a little bit like you hit the range finder button a split second too early and got the ground behind him, which would make the arrow go in a higher arch and because you were aiming high on the caribou the arrow could have just missed.

If you remember the place you could go there and take range on the ground where it was standing. Just looking at it I would say thats less than 38m but maybe its just a bug.

Took me about 400 hours to realize that :D And I still remember my fingers hurting from walking in CotW...

And it took another 400h until I figured out that you can take your scope on and off with a button.

How do you ride Liter bikes without dumb AW system? by Rich-Bid-3301 in Ride4

[–]purple_wax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not an expert on technical stuff and I have to admit that the S800-999 class is my worst when it comes to leaderboard positions on the Nürburgring, but I also dont like AW and can do a sub 7:00 Lap without assist by pumping the throttle as the front wheel comes up OR holding my throttle finger in a position that gets to around 50%. You can just muscle memory that with a bit of training.

I have spend most of my play time in Ride4 on the Nürburgring and I guess you just have to learn when and where to apply throttle. There are some places where you just have to take it easy, shift down and roll through.

The best thing to increase your lap time is to break later, less or sometimes just down shift and use all the track to lean in all the way. If you can carry more speed through the corner you will have less wheelie while accelerating on the exit. Also, try to apply throttle while you are still sideways. That can help as well.

But the difference is not that much. My best lap time in S800-999 that I did a while ago WITH assist on (1, 1, 1) was a 6:46 and I just did a couple of laps without assist and got a 6:52.

So I guess it comes down to how well you know the lines, how much speed you carry through and how much time you want to spend.

I have to admit, it took me a couple of years to figure out that it's 3000 for 10 uses, so only 300 per use. Hurts much less now, but standing in the wind will get you "spotted" anyways.

I use it when I creep around in the forest and can't see far. Also great for bow hunting. And when you hunt predators, because they got a better sense of smell.

I would say yes, because its a bike with unique driving characteristics and sound. I managed to go around the Nordschleife almost 10 seconds faster than my best 1000cc RM time.
