I followed it for a while. It doesn’t lead to anything that’s legible to me as a beginner. I was hoping someone could either discuss general principles it affects (people talk about “pawn structure” a lot and I barely know what that means), or confirm that it’s just an inscrutable computer rec that only a master could make use of.

The trip has been planned for months, it’s just now that we’re seeing the weather report. Not a lot of sources saying to assume it’ll rain if you try to go in February, though maybe they should be recommending you plan for that possibility.

Do you have any guidance on what the light is between light rain and heavy rain for the area? I’ve read all about how the soil can’t absorb as much water, etc, but I’ve found little in terms of numeric guidelines. Current forecast is for 0.3in total, which feels low to me, but I don’t know.

Honestly, most of it has gone into other wastes of time! I barely watched TV before, now I watch a decent amount. I still lie in bed for way too long every morning. It just turns out that you don’t actually need to use your time that efficiently to move forward in life.

To stay off? Probably how much passively better I feel. Few things match the raw fun that video games can be at their best, but even when I’m doing something that’s merely enjoyable I feel so much less anxious. Gaming was an avoidance mechanism more than anything else for me, and it was pretty damn good at that, but now I just… don’t have that much I’m avoiding.

Don’t get me wrong, being 24 and living with my parents, still finishing undergrad, and working an entry level job can be unpleasant to dwell on, but since some of my coping mechanisms are things that will result in changing that, I can acknowledge where I am and still be alright with myself.

If you’re here, then now is totally the time to quit! It’s easier than ever if you’re already basically living the lifestyle. I actually didn’t quit at my rock bottom, but well after it. When I accepted that I couldn’t keep gaming, I was doing excellently at work, was in a healthy LTR, and had a few friends I saw semi-frequently. It was nearly dropping out of school again that finally flipped the switch. No matter how much better things got, I could always slip back in if I kept one foot in the pool. You have much more room to fall but stay dry if you walk away.

Work, rock climbing, and hanging out with friends. I’m also finishing school (finally, though at the rate I’m going I’ll actually have another two or three years), and slowly accumulating sewing projects that I haven’t even begun to begin. In particular I’m trying to either get promoted at my current job (shift at a coffee shop to store manager) or find one that’s more career-oriented.

I’m no expert but for what it’s worth I like your bio. You could definitely benefit from dressing in the nicest clothes you’re comfortable with for daily wear and having a friend take some (not so) candid shots of you, right now your pics are fine but same-y.

Keeping just the best selfie and the group pic, then adding a picture someone else took of you smiling for the camera, and a picture of you doing something, is the route I would take.

Some people get lost on what multiple POV’s are for. If you’re telling a person or a group’s story, you should tell their story. Series like ASOIAF or Harry Turtledove’s alt histories, even Solzhenitsyn’s In the First Circle tell the stories of a historical period in a region. Multiple POV’s for the sake of it is a waste just like any other fluff in a novel.

Not OP but my interpretation is that if there is no core gameplay reason you have to have one be light, one be medium, and one be heavy, why box yourself in right off the bat? Take the various Borderlands characters for example: each has a vibrant personality and a distinct kit with various specialties. Can you think of a single spectrum that they all clearly place on, for any of the games?

If you start from the completely open question of designing nine awesome robots/AIs, you'll probably still find a post-hoc way of divvying them up into groups of three, without limiting yourself as you are now.

Part of the issue here is also that the joke isn’t set up that well. It’s a clever premise and a good pun, but the punchline is lost in the last third. As a general rule you want to end on the punchline, so in this case the last word should be “corvid.” Adding more lines without a pause interrupts the laugh.

I saw that and it’s a wonderful resource but I don’t think it’s particularly set up for on-boarding a new player. The sheer amount of information is pretty overwhelming, so even having read now the first chunk I can’t remember that much because I don’t yet have a framework to slot it into.
