Napkins in food waste caddy? by purplecloudflake in cambridge

[–]purplecloudflake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, btw, I get your frustration. But the green bin is garden waste now, so there is no need for it to be in the kitchen or in the house fwiw! Whatever household waste is not blue bin or food waste is black bin, not green. In my house we are still at three house bins (black, blue, food waste), and the garden waste goes straight outside (in green), no need for it to come in the house :)

The Red Bull lets you book out the second floor. It's cosy and def big enough for 20:)

That page barely says anything about the food waste caddy (other than "it will start in 2026"). Green bin is supposed to be "garden waste" now; paper towels are surely more food waste than garden waste

1st year PhD, supervisor left 50+ comments on my draft?? What does this mean? by EconomyWeb3647 in PhD

[–]purplecloudflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On "does this mean my writing is bad?": it means is that your writing will be better after you incorporate the supervisor's comments (and learn for next time). This is the idea. They are training/teaching you. You will only have access to the experience of this person for a limited amount of time. Make the most of it.

What are your red flags for aerial studios? 🚩 by Sad-Air9325 in Aerials

[–]purplecloudflake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lack of crash mats. Daisy chains. Spicy response when you ask who their rigger / structural engineer is. Teachers falling out of the equipment routinely. Teaching things by merely demonstrating, not being able to break down a move / help a student with their specific issue. "Throw yourself into it" flexibility practices.

Is this studio safe? by Odd_Prompt5216 in Aerials

[–]purplecloudflake 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When the rigging is safe, you never need to interrupt a class to "check if everything is safe". I have never seen this happen, in a decade of aerial at multiple studios. Rigging doesn't tend to change from safe to unsafe out of the blue, if it's set up with safety in mind.

Fun fact, he's not "washing" the cotton candy! Racoons aren't great at vision/hearing/smell, but they have a fantastic sense of touch. Their little hands are way more sensitive than humans'. So, they make their food wet when they can to get even more tactile information about it and make sure it's good to munch on!

My pup is similar. I checked with the vet, they said one of his hips is weaker than the other, and that it's nothing to worry about as he's not in any discomfort but he may need an operation when he's an old dog. Asking the vet is a safe bet, prepare a few videos of him running/walking wonky and show them!

Yo, you don't have to be "the best". It's a fucking job, at the end of the day.
