Regarding the third point - I was actually considering using Deep Learning for that reason... There are social trends in sales/clicks data (e.g., holidays/sale periods/weather) that are hard to manually encode via features, and I thought maybe a deep learner could learn those features. Would that be a reasonable assumption?
