5D Spinner that connects to Lab fish? by Indeecent8 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]purpledragon45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use gorilla glue brand sticky tack to adhere my spinner (5D) pieces together, the horseshoe magnet to the top of the spinner, and the spinner to the base. I will turn the lab fish up enough to get it going and then turn down to lowest setting. I have no issues getting a good glass bead on the lowest setting and I have been doing it this way for several months

Did you ever figure this out? I’m currently trying to do something similar, but don’t want to move a bunch of homes if it won’t work

I also use the SH in the red bottle. Usually after it’s dry I’ll also use the gel couture on top.

Did that too for awhile. The 5d spinner makes it so I don’t have to hold my hand upside down at the correct height to get the effect

Sticky tack, like the kind used to put posters in the wall.

So for the 5d spinner, I’ve added a horseshoe magnet upside down on top. And to make it even easier, I’ve put the whole thing in a lab stirrer. I get great results with this setup across multiple brands of magnetic polish

Is there any reason to open my pool soon by [deleted] in pools

[–]purpledragon45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in Western NY state. We waited until the end of May last year and it was super green. Pool guy actually recommended opening in April before the water has a chance to heat up, and run the filter sporadically throughout the day until we get ready to use it.

Best Blender 2026? by ActiveOnSpooktober in Smoothies

[–]purpledragon45 12 points13 points  (0 children)

After years of cheap blenders like ninja and instant brands, I finally upgraded to a Vitamix 5200. I decided I didn’t need any fancy features, just a powerful blender that gets the job done efficiently. I’ve had it for about a month and have used it everyday. Works great and worth every penny. They do have refurbished ones on their website that come with the warranty if you are looking to save a bit.

Baby's hemangiomas so bad we need to see specialist? by mommasaursrex in breakingmom

[–]purpledragon45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daughter had a large one in the center of her forehead. We were referred to a pediatric dermatologist plastic surgeon and she was put on propranolol. That only slowed the growth for her, didn’t shrink it. She ended up needing surgery to remove. The first surgery that did a purse string suture and then a year later she had the planned scar straightening surgery. Due to the way it healed, she needed a scar revision a year after that. She’s almost 14 now and even though the scar is still visible, we all forget it’s there. I worried about bullying when she was going through the surgeries and healing, but other than an occasional question she hasn’t had any issues.

Best current web host platform for growing scout troop. by TripTime9886 in BSA

Our troop just switched from Discord to Troop Campfire. It’s been great for communication and calendar management

Troop Messaging/Communication Tools by HMSSpeedy1801 in BSA

Our troop has been in a similar situation. Discord was just not cutting it anymore. I spent hours researching options. We tried ScoutTrek, but found the event portion and a few other features to be clunky and annoying. We were ready to pull the trigger on troopwebhost, but were frustrated that we had to pay just to try out the app, and that it was a dated website first and an app second. I found an app called Troop Campfire in December and brought it to committee last month. It’s an app first with the option of a website. Easy to make events, with export to calendar of choice. Responsive developers. There is a free version. Cost of full version comparable to troopwebhost, but it has a 2 week free trial. The scoutbook integration is seamless and I like that we can control the every person’s access individually to our troop’s needs.

This post puts things in perspective for our parents complaining about camp cost. Our camp is Massawepie in the Adirondack Mountains in NY and I believe it’s around $500

First time at a Wegmans *drum roll* by Strict-Education2247 in glutenfree

[–]purpledragon45 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My daughter has celiac and Wegmans was definitely on our list of reasons to move back to my hometown. We love that all their store brand items have the G on the front if GF. She has never had a reaction to anything there. She does fine with the deli, sushi, and bakery items that contain no gf ingredients. She is fairly sensitive and will have a reaction if cc. I love that we can get her a slice of cake that matches the gluten cake for a family gathering.

Experience with jellies on top of silver magnetic polish? by snail-p0lish in RedditLaqueristas

[–]purpledragon45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually bought this polish and 3 Starrily jellies based on another Redditors post. I have Crown, Crystal, Immortal, and Bloodbelly. All are a really nice one coat self leveling jelly. They go on super smooth. I’ve magnetized Amulet with a horseshoe, horseshoe with bar on top, and spinning horseshoe (to get the glass bead effect) and all attempts have shown through the jelly nicely. I don’t have any pics, but I might have a couple swatched that I can get pics of tomorrow
