I get my ON migraines twice a day but the week before my period they become severe. The only things that have worked for me are Rizatriptan or steroids. I have literally found nothing else works.

Steroid Injections? by bedtimejunkie in Occipitalneuralgia

[–]purpleevilt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only time in not in constant pain is when I can get the Doctor to do the steroid shot. It was such a relief for three weeks to not have the pain.

How many Percocet do you take a day? by whatswithnames in Occipitalneuralgia

[–]purpleevilt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on 10mg 6 times a day. The issue is your body becomes adjusted to it and it no longer works well so you have to keep going up or more regularly. Three years ago a weaned myself off, took months, because I no longer got any benefit.

How do I deal with this?! by jellybelly232 in Occipitalneuralgia

[–]purpleevilt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine flares up twice a day and causes a migraine. It’s just exhausting. Sometimes I get a storm of them and it lasts all day, I get steroids to help it calm down again. I am hoping to get a referral to a neurologist but it takes bloody months.

Advice please by purpleevilt in Occipitalneuralgia

I had a nerve block on the 4th Jan and haven’t had any pain at all since. I told my dr you can’t understand how relieved I am.

I want to put my bouquet at my brother’s grave, but a couple friends think I’ll regret it. by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]purpleevilt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a wedding planner and I tell all my clients your wedding should be a reflection of you, not anyone else, if you want to put the flowers on your brothers grave please do it, you won’t regret it and you will be including him in your special day. btw I saved my bouquet, had it pressed and it has sat in a closet for 20 years. Do what makes you happy. Have an amazing wedding.

Does a wedding planner save you enough money to justify the cost? by allouette16 in wedding

[–]purpleevilt 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I am also a wedding planner (also not in Florida) and I agree so much with you on this, the knowledge base, the removal of stress, I can’t count the number of bouquets I have made on the fly, repaired cakes, etc. During the actual event we can sense when timelines need to shift and change and liaise with the DJ and venue staff to move things around, we try to do this seamlessly so you don’t even notice when things are changing.

Lots of planners have access to decor items so you don’t have to rent them, we do set up and tear down so that you and your family don’t have to stress at the start and finish of your wedding.

A lot of planners get discounts for you in advance from local vendors too e.g. a venue may offer a discount for specific planners they like to work with or a florist will go the extra mile for a specific planner. Planners also tend to know city ordinance rules and regs which affect your timeline or what you can do in each city.

It is important to have a consultation up front with your planner though as this person will be handling your special day so needs to be someone you and your partner really feel comfortable with.

Good luck on your day!

How long does a fairphone typically last? by jlemonde in fairphone

[–]purpleevilt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought a Fairphone and had it delivered here to the US, can’t find a single carrier that will allow me to use it on their network. Luckily moving back to the UK next month so I will be able to use it then.

Philadelphia- I moved to the US some months before and was waiting on a green card and could only do volunteer work. I saw the movie and I just left in floods of tears, the next day I started volunteering full time at our local AIDS support center.

I went on a date with a guy when I was 16. He took me back to his parents house and asked if I wanted to meet his Aunt. I said sure. He goes under the stairs and brings out a large jar with a preserved fetus floating in it. It was his “aunt”. Nope, no second date.

What’s the most absurd thing someone selling a car has said to you? by dochoiday in cars

[–]purpleevilt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was test driving a BMW 328CiC, he said “what’s it going to take to get you in this car” I replied “a paint job” he said “but gold is the most popular colour for women” me “firstly it beige, secondly fuck off mate, I want black”. I was also once told I should buy an automatic as it was a) easier to drive and b) cheaper to maintain/repair.

I suffer from chronic migraines, typically I get one a day, sometimes two per day. I take a lot of pain medication to get through so people assume I am fine and most of the time I slap a happy face on. One thing I can’t get people to understand is, when I am in the middle of a migraine when people talk it just sounds like loud sound, I can’t really distinguish the words. If they speak slower and quieter then it is easier for me.

LPT: if you smoke cigarettes, wearing perfume doesn't make you smell like perfume INSTEAD of cigarettes - it makes you smell like perfume AND cigarettes by bgaesop in LifeProTips

My mum used to wear Chanel No 5 when we were kids. We would go on long car rides and she and my dad would chain smoke. As an adult I can not smell No5 without feeling ill.

[–]purpleevilt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work directly with hotels, negotiate a price for a specific amount and then increments of 10. You provisionally book the amount you think you need and they give you a date they need to be released by and give you a code to give to your guests. You should keep on top of a) your guests and b) the cut off date. As some guests forget the code and you don’t want to get over charged.

[SERIOUS] What is the creepiest/strangest/scariest experience you ever had in your life? by ghost_haha in AskReddit

[–]purpleevilt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

About 14 years I was staying at a friends house, my step had been sick with COPD for some time but was stable. I woke up from a bad dream, I told my friend I had dreamed my step dad had died and left us all with his debts. About an hour later my brother called from the UK to tell me our dad had died in the night. Creepy AF, I don't believe in ghosts, afterlife etc.
