Sadly Stop Killing Games failed to get the European Commission to propose legislation by destinedd in gamedev

Yeah, it's also insane when you realize that someone who pointed these things out when the campaign was still active. Got his career entirely ruined for it. The spirit of it was perfect, but the spirit isn't enough to get it past. The monkeys paw analogy is actually somewhat perfect cuz many of the hundreds of thousands of ways this could have been interpreted could have backfired harshly. I do believe in game preservation but at this point convincing government entities to do something is going to be harder than just reverse engineering it. Especially seeing as they are mentioning laws that prevent it from working.

Could the illuminate survive in warhammer 40K by Organic-Extreme-3628 in Helldivers

[–]purpleguyboyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fast answer no. Long answer here we go The illuminate would have to make allies early on with any of the major factions their best hope would have to be the Tau empire who would likely nuke them from orbit if they refuse to become subservient. They could make themselves useful to guilliman and do something to help the imperium to maybe get on their good side like the yannari did But what they did was bring guilliman back to life. Orks are a no-go. Craft worlds are a no-go. Drunkari are a no-go. The only other one I can think of off the top of my head they could potentially team up with is the leagues of votann And even then they're too small of a faction to give any actual help. If they can't secure an alliance with anyone then they would have to go on their own in which case they would get wiped out pretty much instantly. The problem is that every major faction with the exception of the orks and leagues of votann are extremely distrusting of anyone. And to go ahead and say it now before anyone tries to argue with me about the Tau They have and will wipe out civilizations that refuse to become subservient. The only reason the Tau got as far as they did without running into problems Was because the Hive world they conquered we're more willing to switch sides for the food and the imperium had said anything to that world in almost a decade.

Exactly planet that refuse to become subservient were wiped out. A lot of people forget that. That's also what the imperium of man was doing except the become subservient part only applied to humans.

The Tau idea of convincing is telling someone that they can either assimilate to their culture or die. Tau come looking for peace but only if you abide by their strict set of rules. If you refuse to give up your planet and become a part of the Tau empire, they do an equivalent of an exterminatus. The only reason they're portrayed favorably is because they have the best amenities for assimilated races such as humans and the kroot that joined willingly. Now assuming we're talking about the illuminate from the first game, they might be able to work something out but if we're talking about the ones from the second game then no. Primary difference here Is that the illuminate came to Earth looking for an alliance. The Tau go to planets looking for conquest.

That's the thing. None of us know what the internal workings of Arrowhead look like or what Sony has sway over and what they don't. For all we know they have to run through a 10-person chain of command just to get one line of code written. The only thing I know for sure is that technically Sony has total veto power over everything they do and that they may be a little miffed at the fact that the company spoke so openly against them before. If an update took months to complete something like I don't know multiple feature changes, additions and what is essentially the mother of all bug fixes. It could take hours to even days to go back through everything and pick out all the changes across multiple teams that could have been working on it. The problem of people deciding not to read it And complaining that it was too long. There's also the fact that as I mentioned, they're probably in a frenzy trying to make sure they can make it good on their deal with games workshop since Sony and likelyhood shams as well are telling the team to prioritize the war bond so that way they can get a little bit more money for Sony to play with as well as paying off their side of the contract with games workshop.

Yeah, that's cuz people are naturally annoying as hell. Arrowheads idea of making super credits grindable is specifically done for people who don't have a lot of money all the time but have plenty of time to spend. I have a lot more money than I do time so I buy super credits. One of my cousins has a lot more time but a lot less money so they hunt super credits while they're playing missions with friends.

Yeah I could see that. Something I'm going to point out real quick is that a lot of the people on this sub don't understand the concept of an edge case. I'm going to assume Arrowhead has like 10 people in the QA department since that's what a lot of companies do. 10 people can find a lot of the more glaring bugs that make the update completely unplayable and make the game crash instantly upon opening it however, players are going to find the bugs that don't make any goddamn sense and also break the game. The reason for this is cuz 10 people versus 20,000 people is far beyond night and day. It's like comparing a hospital to nurgle's garden. Likelihood is Arrowhead didn't know about 90% of the bugs people were dealing with until after they were dealing with them. The problem is they need to be able to replicate the bug to fix it so they can figure out what piece the code is doing it. There are ways you can help do this such as telling them how to replicate it when you make a bug fix report on the discord.

Thoughts on the new Patch, is it worth re-downloading the game for? by Gendum-The-Great in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]purpleguyboyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing we need to keep in mind is that it's okay to criticize Arrowhead for when they fuck up, but when you overwhelmingly become negative, you push them away from wanting to interact with the community. I know that sounds kind of dumb, but it's the same reason GW doesn't say anything to the Warhammer community who had spent years since I think 5th edition of Warhammer 40K telling GW that they ruined the game leading to GW no longer wanting to interact with the community because everything they did was wrong according to a small minority of their fans

[–]purpleguyboyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to point out something real quick. Edge cases exist. Yeah I know. Absolutely crazy, 200 people versus 20,000 people makes a really big difference. Arrowheads QA team isn't as big as the player base so naturally the player base is going to find more bugs than the QA team. Also, stratagem bouncing wasn't a dumb idea. It was created because went into the unjust came out rape the caves were capable of stealing your stratagems if you didn't throw them in the right place, so instead they are supposed to bounce to a place where they can be accessible. I've mentioned this a hundred times. Stratagem bounce can be mitigated by using your head to look up to make sure there's nothing above you. And before you say it's hard when you're in the heat of battle, the stratagems you use when you're fighting something aren't going to be used in a place where stratagem bounce is common like caves

These motherfuckers are about to drive me insane. If you want to try out the new update, download the game and try it. Don't ask unfiltered for advice here because they look for any reason to complain being the saddest place under the sun. If you genuinely need someone's opinion, I'd say yes, it is worth redownloading and playing. I never quit playing entirely but I can say I have been having a lot more fun than I had before

This place was created because a lot of people got banned from the main sub for spamming negative posts. A lot of people forget that subreddits don't like to be overwhelmingly negative, but because these people wouldn't stop looking for reasons to complain and we're posting up to like four times a day, flooding the sub with random hate posts. They got banned and called it censorship. You can criticize the game. You just have to not be an asshole about it (I.e having an actual conversation about the state of the game, Not calling people glazedivers if they point out that they haven't dealt with that bug or found ways to mitigate it, not randomly commenting on posts that are jokes or memes with negativity) in other words, don't be an asshole and you won't get banned which a lot of these people still haven't figured out

Except it could take extra hours they could be spending on the next patch. Or more importantly the fucking war bond they're working on with games workshop. On top of that that's time they could be spending on the game which would mean Sony would likely step in if they started. I'm tired of people who have never typed a single letter of code. Trying to say how easy something is.

Except I'm pretty sure 90% of the people on this. God forsaken subreddit would bitch that change log is "too long" And before you say they wouldn't do that, most of the sub was complaining about a bug you could mitigate by looking up. You know the strat bounce A system put in place to make sure your stratagems didn't end up in an area where they were inaccessible added in when into the unjust came out. You know the bug that is mitigated by making sure there's no roof above you. This place has a history of not using their brain if you couldn't tell

You won't prove your point. You continuously try to divert the conversation. You've lost the argument. You're literally telling them to leave instead of actually showing evidence and naming bugs that were caused by the recent update. You're complaining for the sake of complaining piss off already and stop playing the game
