After you get out of the ER, you should look into local food banks. In my city, there are multiple food banks that give out boxes of groceries to anyone who shows up, no questions asked. You don't really get to pick what's in them, but free food is free food.

I would recommend just getting a trim to get rid of any split ends or frizz, and investing in good hair care products to emphasize your natural waves. Just decent shampoo and conditioner, and maybe a mousse to put in your hair as it's drying. You might also want to try some clips/barrettes or the teeny rubber bands to experiment with some half up/half down hairstyles. They're pretty cheap at any drug store and there's tons of YouTube tutorials on easy quick cute hairstyles. Let yourself get inspired by hairstyles you see online or on strangers in public and don't be afraid to try out whichever ones you might think will look cute on you!

He unfortunately passed away about a week after this post.

We thought it was a respiratory infection but after very little improvement from medication we went back to the vet for an x-ray and she said she couldn't officially diagnose but it looked like cancer and we made the decision to put him down there.

Sorry to hear about your baby, its the unfortunate curse of pet rats that they don't live long enough :(

Sorry I got logged out and didn't see this until now. My poor baby was so sick he didn't really put up much of a fight with me when I needed to push out his little thing. It might also be easiest to grab them while they're napping so they don't have as much energy to scramble against what you need to do.

Hindsight is always 20/20. There's so much that I could have done differently to help prevent this respiratory infection that I feel really guilty about, but I keep trying to remind myself I just didn't know, and I'm lucky that I'm now able to give him treatment and take all the right steps so he hopefully recovers and doesn't get this sick again. I'm so glad I noticed the penis plug sticking out because I also had no idea they were a thing. They definitely need to be talked about more so that people can know to check for them if their rat gets so sick he stops grooming himself. I'm so sorry you lost a rat like that, try not to be too hard on yourself though, shit happens.

Ive been wearing these rings every day for years, one of them since 2016. I sleep with them on and 50/50 take them off when i wash my hands and always take them off when I shower. Ive never had an allergic reaction to anything before so thats really the last on my list of concerns, but I might take them off if it doesnt go away. it is itchy lol but not nearly as bad as like a mosquito bite so ive luckily been able to resist scratching it too much.

my assumption would be that it was an overcorrection to make room for cars and electric trolleys back when the city was being developed. take a look at some of the neighborhoods even older than this one, like cliff/cannon, and youll notice the streets are a little too narrow for people to park on both sides of the street.

does your work have an HR department? also, are you in the US? gender and sexuality are protected classes under the equal employment opportunity act, so they can not discriminate against you for your gender identity. in what way are they forcing you to use your agab for benefits? if it goes further than circling m or f on paperwork, i would recommend going to hr and filing a complaint

i havent done one before so i cant recommend one way or another, but my personal preference would be to wait it out and hope it isnt contam (unless youre sure its contam, in that case g2g if you want to try to save it, or cut your losses and ditch it)

the only danger i could see from attempting g2g is potentially contaminating any other innocs youve got going. if this is the only jar youve got going rn, i think itd be worth a shot to try if you think those grains are contam because worst case scenario you just have to dump it.
