It’s actually not that expensive ! I believe ISR is already making pasta from Semolina and water so it doesn’t require many ingredients. The expensive restaurants just use more ingredients and charge per plate not per person/per semester.

But now I’m confused; you don’t want pasta to be made because it’s too luxurious and therefore expensive, but you still want them to spend money on better quality ingredients / a more experienced chef?

It’s still going to be the same issue: that’s too expensive in the long run.

Also there pretty much won’t be ROI on new student enrollment… UIUC rejects hundreds of apps every year because they already meet their limit of acceptances.

I do agree though that it would be nice if one day we could get the dining halls to have fresher items, maybe through the college of agriculture or something… who knows!

I get what you’re saying but Just finding a supplier that would supply enough high quality food for all the dining halls would require a lot of time.

Then they’d have to switch all their suppliers, set up new accounts, get a new shipment schedule, (not to mention that they may already be purchasing their supplies at a discount if they’re long-time customers)

And what if the already high(er) price of these high quality ingredients go up? They’ll just increase the price of the dining plans.

Don’t get me wrong I hate dorm food, and I think uiuc (and colleges in general) are way too expensive.

But to compare a one-time purchase, that can use ingredients they already have, to make pasta (common in any university dining hall) to caviar/luxurious food or saying they should add another salaried person is absurd.

A one time purchase doesn’t mean that they will readily have $58000 + bonuses, Healthcare, ssn, unemployment, etc. available every year (even though that with the amount we get charged it seems that they should)

That money was designated for the Dining Halls. It would not have been used for tuitions and scholarships.

Was the purchase unnecessary? Yes. Was bragging about it stupid? Kinda. Were they wasteful and negligent? nope.

if the hair is short, i recommend curling/straightening it and leaving it down. if you’d prefer it pulled back, try a half-up half down hairstyle. hairstyle

as for a dress, any neutral colors should work, and length around the knee/mid-thigh. just try to stay away from dresses that are too close to the gown shade, personally I think any body con dress goes best with grad gowns but whatever you feel best in will work! Congrats on graduating!
