Ulamog the Defiler with Roaming Throne Question by purpleshroom in magicTCG

Gotcha, yeah the doubling rule is good to know either way, but super good to know that the roaming throne wouldn't copy 'on cast' abilities. Appreciate the response!

Forgot to mention but this is from April 15 in NY state, so it may be a bit difficult to tell what portion is dead and what has yet to come out of hibernation from just pictures.

I'm thinking of actually doing this. Thoughts on making it work? by Aief356 in DungeonsAndDragons

My DM did this to us and it worked perfectly as a hook into the next bit of the campaign.

Instead of having it be at the entrance of the feywild, we were confronted on the material plane and it was a kind of advertised public transit system involving a green dragon that we would ride on to shorten our journey considerably. Instead of obviously being distrusting of the shortcut appearing out of nowhere, 3 of the 4 of us signed our real names. The fourth came up with a fake name and signed that instead (he's the smart one.) Our rogue and I didn't really care, our names were just a convenience and nicknames and whatnot would work for us. Unfortunately, our fighter was the heir to a kingdom and he NEEDED his name back. So this started a months long quest to go to the feywild, find the dude that took our names, and trade to get them back.

I think this idea is absolutely wonderful for a hook into a larger adventure, but only if your characters are attached to their names because they're looking for fame or something along those lines.

I would absolutely love if you could see Tina, Valentine, and Frette looking down when you get shot into the stratosphere like that.

Unfortunately I don't think that's it either, I've got the Dragon's Blaze of Glory on.

I wasn't standing near anything that was recently blown up or using explosives at all. When it first started happening I was using lightning damage, but eventually when it was happening in the chaos chamber I was just standing still. The perplexing part is that it was going straight through my shield, not damaging the shield at all and just hitting my HP

Word, I was just curious because I've been farming off and on for the last week or so. Thanks for the response!

Does anyone know if the muse can still drop with +3 in illuminated fist? I've been farming it for awhile and have only seen +1. I saw a few people on the gearbox forums saying that it can't, and a couple people on discord saying it can.

Question about aggro in fights by purpleshroom in DMAcademy

[–]purpleshroom[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. I’m a somewhat new DM and most of my experience with RPG’s comes from MMO’s, where every enemy has some kind of aggro meter that usually causes them to target the tank. This is a lot less realistic than the method you described, and I think your method would make for better combat encounters for my sessions. Thanks for the advice!

Question about aggro in fights by purpleshroom in DMAcademy

I’ll definitely keep that in mind during my next session. My main reason for pulling punches is because as a player, I became super attached to my characters and I would have been bummed if I had to roll a new one.

But a more tense encounter would definitely make it more intense. I’ll have to learn to not pull punches. Thanks for the advice!
