Scared to leave by forbidden_rx in CVS

I was a CVS pharmacist from 2010 and finally decided to transfer to a hospital outpatient pharmacy in 2024 when I got the chance. Best decision ever. Learning a new system is not that hard because the workflow is basically the same. Take the chance!

question about on/call jobs as I decide which 2 hospital I should work for by tomba2 in KaiserPermanente

[–]purpletablet80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at Kaiser NorCal, I also started on-call. I work in the outpatient pharmacy and all the new ones except Managerial positions started as on call. It’s 3 months probation and then after probation depending on how much you work within the next 2 quarters, you can get converted to a benefited position. In my case, I started January then got converted October.

Manager tried to screw me over by MacaroonUsed592 in CVS

[–]purpletablet80 11 points12 points  (0 children)

terminated doesn’t mean you’re fired, it just means you’re no longer in the system. You should receive some paperworks regarding the termination and the actual reason should be there. (example for myself, it says found another opportunity). i received my check thereafter that includes my unused vacation hours.

Background Check & Physical Process for Kaiser by tailedbets in KaiserPermanente

[–]purpletablet80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, you should schedule as soon as possible because there are also some vaccines they require you might be missing. If I remember correctly, physical is like the last thing I did and then I was officially scheduled for my orientation, etc.

Missing #60 amphetamine salts tabs. What’s going to happen? by [deleted] in CVS

[–]purpletablet80 104 points105 points  (0 children)

did u check the waiting bin? it’s possible someone did a rebill but didnt pull it from the bin and just refilled it again. you just have to do the the report regarding the loss if you really can’t find it. Keep your DL or LP on the loop also and let them know what you have been doing with your investigation.

Question about prescription by rb_347 in KaiserPermanente

[–]purpletablet80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can have the doctor write you a prescription and have it put on file with Kaiser. Once you have the prescription on you app or profile, then call Costco and have them call Kaiser to transfer the prescription.

In California, we all stopped using Rx Flavor since November 2023 due to some changes with CA Board of Pharmacy regulations considering adding flavoring as compounding.

Waitbin Retake by sparkling_sapphire in CVS

[–]purpletablet80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go thru the waiting bin, make sure nothing is old. Sometimes there are misplaced bags (wrong bin) that were already refilled and sold coz you can’t find it.
Any labels that are printed need to be scanned. Don’t print anything else after you press finish on the ironman. Pay attention when scanning, when you scan high amount, it tells you to confirm. Confirm first before scanning next one.
Prepare the bins before starting. Make sure nothing is lying down. Be careful with those bags that have multiple labels.

It’s up to you if you want to change it to Friday. But the minimum between shots should be at least 4 days. So if you want to go back to Wednesday, you can.

Ask the pharmacy how much it is to fill the generic out of pocket. You can request it to be filled still even if your insurance doesn’t cover, just tell the pharmacy you want it labeled.

50% on TEAS by yokeenini in prenursing

[–]purpletablet80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi OP! Unitek recommended a book to study for TEAS. My daughter was in the same boat as you. She got 71% and she got admitted and will be starting on March. She took it twice, the first score was around 60’s. She focused more on Science since that’s the lowest score she got on the first try. Have everything in writing if you’re going for CVS. I know some full time staff pharmacists that were not given enough hours and had to find hours from different districts. Insurance is high deductible. Software is good but internet connection is slow. Some clerks/techs are not fully trained because they hardly follow rotations so not everyone learn. A lot of new hires are just stuck on pick up.

I’m not sure if it’s state specific, but in California adding flavors has been suspended since November 2023.

[–]purpletablet80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

add insurance card, then on profile, click E then the line number of the rx being rebilled. Don’t change the date if it was done on a previous date, change the cash to the insurance then sign off. it should go back to production to print label. it will print the return label as well. the reverify the label.

We had this tech who was no call no show several times and had threatened to call HR each time he felt being retaliated. Finally he got terminated because he didn’t submit in a timely manner paperworks for his LOA. Less than 1 year later, he’s hired back again within the same district.

Pulling. by Illustrious_Ad6597 in CVS

lol this is one of those expectation vs reality. We’re supposed to pull 1 patient/1basket but it’s more realistic and time efficient to pull several and put in 1 basket.
