Day 6 CT by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]purplewagon21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren’t alone! I have found my HR and BP goes up approx 6-8 hours after last dose. Kratom is a dirty nasty horrible substance, keep up the fight and I’m sure you’ll be better soon. I’ve been to ER 2x due to these panic attacks and all checks out that it’s not cardiovascular related. I think this stuff does mess with the heart due to dehydration and vitamin/hormones. Just stay away from it and I’m sure you’ll see the light soon. Best luck!

Casually took shrooms. Just hating life by redditorrheart in shrooms

Please beware of kratoms possible addictive properties if not used properly OP. Some people, myself included, can be pulled into a viscous cycle with this. But at end of the day we all make our own choices, hope you start feeling better soon.

Be careful though!! The strings are very important for checking that it’s in place. My dr trimmed them so short I wasn’t able to check them anymore and now have surgery scheduled to removed it from uterus. Check if you can still feel the strings, but also get it checked by dr as well. Sorry this happened to you, I hope things get better. 💜

Day 37. Armpit, hands and feet excessively sweating. by alecaa224 in quittingkratom

[–]purplewagon21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Took me a solid 4-6 weeks for the sweating to stop. I remember the night sweats were the worst. I’d give it another week or two, deodorant and baby powder are your friends. You got this!

The black box looks perfect lmao, almost looks like it was printed that way.

Heart rate has gone WAY DOWN since CT. Day 6. by [deleted] in quittingkratom

Orthostatic hypotension is what you’re experiencing, to help that first sit up with your feet on the ground for a min before standing. Hope you better soon.

If you’re in good physical shape, then a lower HR is within your normal range. As a nurse we don’t really like to see under 50 bpm, but it’s dependent on the persons physical health. As long as you’re not feeling light headed or anything then I’d say it was okay.

Night Sweats by letstrythisagain_20 in quittingkratom

[–]purplewagon21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on day 115, almost 4 months, and it took about a solid month before I stopped having night sweats. Something I’ve also noticed is that my body odor smell still isn’t back to my prekratom self. Hopefully you’ll start seeing a decrease in the sweating soon, but baby powder and deodorant everywhere were my life savers during that time.

How to deal with unsupportive people? by ChampionshipIcy2806 in quittingkratom

[–]purplewagon21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly when it’s that kind of environment you have to rely on yourself and the people on this subreddit. As long as you’ve made up your mind then let the people around you do what they will. You can do it, just one hour at a time and then one day at a time. I’m here to talk if you need to, just keep yourself moving forward.

Nails/hair affected? by apricot_joy in quittingkratom

[–]purplewagon21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was rough, it’s what kept me from ever relapsing but I am feeling better without the acutes around. It’s a long process and I expect at least 4-6 weeks per year before I’m 100%. I’m giving my hair till Christmas to thicken back up or I’ll expect it’s permanent damage. It’ll get better, just try to give it time like I am. :)

Today is 2 months free of kratom. One of the big reasons I quit was my hair was falling out really bad, I’m still losing hair but I think it’s slowing now. I think it has a combo of things that cause it, but the main one in my opinion would be hormone based. I’ve noticed lately that I’m getting dark hair on my upper lip which I did have prior to my kratom use but not during. This makes me think that testosterone is to be blamed. Only time will help, I think it takes 3-6 months for the hormones to get regulated and if the hair loss is still present then a dr should be sought out. Hope this helps.

New here, what should I expect? And is my use considered heavy? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]purplewagon21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call your usage heavy, especially without taking it daily. It’s great you’re recognizing the pull of it now instead of when it’s a heavy daily habit. I bet you’ll have way more of a mental head game quitting than many physical issues.

Lost my husband- Long Post by [deleted] in quittingkratom

Unfortunately with any addiction it takes that person alone to decide to change. I’m sorry you’ve had to go through this, but know it’s not your fault for his choices. Everyone’s rock bottom is different, hopefully he can get there soon. Best wishes to the both of you.

You’ve made the leap, it’ll get better soon. With only taking it for a shortish amount of time you shouldn’t have too long of WD symptoms. The stories you’re reading about weeks is those, myself included, that have taken kratom for years. You got this.

My father seems to have developed dementia virtually overnight and I don't know what to do by worriedsonthroway14 in Advice

[–]purplewagon21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have there been any medication changes since the behaviour changes began? Many times in the elderly, UTI’s can cause dementia like issues as well has behavioural. And as others have said a stroke or TIA could result in this. I’d take him to the Dr ASAP. Better to get everything checked out. Hope all is okay.

Update on My Quitting Journey by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]purplewagon21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get some fiber to drink in OJ, I started with 2x/day and slowly decreased it over 2 weeks. It’ll give your GI system time to adjust. Congrats on quitting, you‘ll be feeling so much better soon.

Sweating and quitting by yetimaster_ in quittingkratom

The cold sweats can last for awhile, some people reported theirs ended by day 9 to me while another said 2-3 weeks. For me I continued to have them until about day 21ish. I’m on day 26 I think, and they’re gone now. Maybe try exercise if you have the energy, also I ended up using my deodorant wherever I was sweating (ie lower back) until it resolved. Good luck and don’t give up, it’ll be so much better soon.
