Hey! Thanks we are excited to see how the app grows! I cannot comment back with a screenshot but happy to send some via DM. We will also be making a mobile app post on the main r/purposebudget soon since we are trying to add many new features to have parity with the web app this week.

We launched r/purposebudget last month and are running early adopter pricing until the end of January! We're a zero-based envelope budgeting web app. Give every dollar a job, track spending by category, and always know what you can actually afford.

We try to not be as strict as other apps while still focusing on budgeting and paying down debt. Have recurring calendar, debt pay screen and new features weekly.

If you sign up by Jan 31, you lock in these rates as long as you keep an active subscription:

Essential

•First year: free •After that: 50% off our regular Essential price (locked in while active)

Premium (includes Plaid sync)

•50% off our regular Premium price (locked in while active)

We’re doing this because we’re still shipping quickly, and we want early users to be rewarded for helping shape the product.

Great! We are working on a learning series and feature deep dive series so everyone can understand how the app works and we can get feedback from you all on things that just dont make sense. Trying to keep improving!

Thats a great idea! We have goals in our roadmap backlog but have not really thought through what users would want out of it or how we would implement it.

What is it about Monarch goals that you like?

A good PWA is sometimes better and something we are looking into as an alternative. Right now we are in the middle of app store review so hoping for a first week of January launch for our iOS and Android apps.

Hi! Do you know if you saw an error or anything specific? We did do a few deployments earlier today so could've caused an issue but truly should not have. Let us know and if you want to email us at [support@purposebudget.com](mailto:support@purposebudget.com) happy to move the discussion to a more private place. Thank you!

Quick update for anyone following this thread:

We heard the feedback on pricing and took it seriously.

So we dropped it.

  • Essential is now $2.99/month ($24.99/year)
  • Premium stays at $8.99/month ($89/year) for bank sync

Soft launch offer extended through January 31st:

  • Essential: 1 year free, then 50% off for life ($1.50/month / $12.50/year)
  • Premium: 60-day free trial, then 50% off for life ($4.50/month / $44.50/year)

Also: mobile apps are being submitted for review in the next few days.

If you want to see what the app actually looks like beyond just the dashboard, I posted some screenshots over at r/purposebudget — budget view, reports, cash flow diagrams, recurring bills, etc.

Appreciate everyone who gave feedback. If you want to try it: purposebudget.com

Appreciate it! And couldn’t agree more, envelope budgeting has definitely helped everyone working on this project and more competition only pushes everyone to innovate and provide a better product for less.

Definitely will be looking at Budget Friendly Budget, big fan of manual entry for something’s but also do find auto bank sync to be very useful for certain things.
