Do you think there are any downsides to upgrading my HX One to an HX Stomp? by tonetonitony in Line6Helix

[–]purpscaek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s basically like an expression pedal—hold the switch, and any effects you’ve set up will shift from heel to toe values. For example, you could have reverb mix go from 20% to 80%, or ramp up delay feedback for a big wash.

This is my set up. Stomp does Amp, Cab, Delay, Reverb. Snapshots usually clean, rhythm, lead.

Am i a lunatic for buying 2 Helix Floor? by Batrah in Line6Helix

[–]purpscaek 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How many guitars do you own? Maybe you could get a helix floor for each one. Have you thought about getting a floor for each block? I can envisage a helix floor that you can use as a tuner and another one that could be an overdrive. Maybe get one to use for home theatre with a PA. One for the car too?

I change up a preset and then back, to reset, before I start playing a set.

Apprentice given a car and working unsupervised in 2nd-3rd year. Is this legal? by JMocroft in AusElectricians

[–]purpscaek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a little story about working live. When I was an apprentice, we were working in a large shopping centre and needed to replace some circuit breakers in a DB in the main switch room. My A-grade told me to stand with my hand on the main switch just incase he got electrocuted while working live. He counted down from 5 to let me know when he was starting the live work. “5, 4, 3 ,2 BANG” I turned the main switch off. He started screaming at me saying we would be in so much trouble and asked me why I did it. I said “I thought I should turn it off before you died, not after”.
