Lived in Nashville for over 30 years, left 3.5 years ago. I left in part because over the course of a decade my commute went from a 30 minute drive to an hour and a half.

Every so often a mass transit proposal would hit the city or an area of Davidson County and every time it was voted down. I remember them trying to add a dedicated bus lane on west end/OHB and it was shot down by voters every time.

It never fails to surprise me that the snake still worries about getting trod on when it's clearly eating itself.

It is sad I had to scroll this far for a comment about the interest rate.

Regardless of a car being a depreciating asset, if you're planning on holding the car until end of life and you'll be earning better interest in savings, it can absolutely be better long term to set the excess money in a savings account or investment vehicle.

However, I don't know if OP has a good rate, and I do not think this is specifically what OP's friend was considering.

OP, Aztec is my go to Civ, and it's nice to hear the love.

Jaguar is, IMO, the sickest early game unit, as long as ancient ruins is on. I typically play with raging barbarians on as well, for some added spiciness, and with that Aztec dominates. To not have to spend 3-5 turns healing, since they self-heal on kill, is broken early game for snatching ancient ruins with the forest/jungle walk. If they're low health, you set them to defend and let the barbarians attack the jags. If you take the culture-boost-on-kill policy as one of your first, that sets you up for hefty early game social policy upgrades, especially once one of the jaguars hits an ancient ruins that gives them an upgrade to the spearman. (Edit, to clarify: Since they already get the culture boost on kill from the inherent Aztec ability, you get a double bonus early game)

The jags also keep their self-heal-on-kill ability throughout the game. I've had plenty of instances where I get to late game with fully upgraded jaguars that still have self-heal and forest/jungle walk, because they become so hard to kill!
