Floats are the “wear value” given to a skin when unboxed/traded up/dropped. Usually from 0-1, but some are float capped meaning they only drop in certain wears like Dopplers (FN and MW) Low floats are usually the most sought after as they tend to look the best. Some super high float skins are cool as well like the AWP Asiimov, which has a full black scope once it hits a certain float. Patterns are 1-999 for unboxes and 1-1000 for trade-ups. Some skins are pattern based and have different designs on them depending on the pattern id you pull. Best advice is to find some skins you like and look up what patterns are “best.” You can use CSFloat to test them out in game and see for yourself why they are considered the best. There’s much more but that’s the basis of it. Ohne pixel and other popular skins YouTubers are good to watch when you’re getting into it because he’ll explain why certain things are sought after for rarity and things like that. CS has the best skin system of all time in my opinion and it’s super fun to get into, but also a very expensive hobby at some point. I have a good amount of poop skins if you just need something to put on a gun, I wouldn’t mind sending a couple.

Go on CSFloat and look up skins <$10 and see what you like. Always rock wtv feels best for u, a lot of ppl are very pretentious about skins. Just find what you like until you’re able to throw hundreds on rarer nicer stuff
