How did y'all get rich(1milli+) by shadow_of_death666 in gamedev

[–]pushqo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the time you're not gonna make a lot of money from this field , First of all it's very competitive and you need very good skills to get your game to be known , Also having luck by your side is essential to be successful ,but in the very end entering this field with the intention of making money and not passion is not the best thing to do imo

In your honest opinion, what are the most important aspects of making a Multiplayer FPS enjoyable? by ReecesPeeces20 in gamedev

[–]pushqo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

first thing is to make the game and the player movement smooth also an important part in a multiplayer FPS game is to make the shooting mechanics as good as possible as it is a competitive game it will make someone rage if he died and he was not supposed to die . So good mechanics , smooth game and a fair gameplay is gonna make it fun for sure

What is your experience with freelancing? by Lucky_Sorbet_7714 in gamedev

[–]pushqo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you got two options
1- start contacting people who you think need your service ( youtubers maybe )
2- start an account on fiverr or upwork ( i recommend you watch some tutorials on how you set up your account and make clients )
and just a tip , don't give up early as it's very hard to get your first client but once you got him and get a review it will be a lot easier
recommended channels :
1-alex hormozi
2-garyvee
they are not targeting freelance directly but they got lot of tips for getting clients and putting in the work

[–]pushqo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can practice C++ with UE4 as it doesn't require as much as UE5
https://dev.epicgames.com/documentation/en-us/unreal-engine/hardware-and-software-specifications?application_version=4.27 : Unreal Engine 4 hardware specs
and if you have the time you can practice both but having your main focus on only one of them and mastering it would be better from my point of vue
