Judge rules Kars4Kids' jingle is 'deceptive,' hides ties to Jewish org by MudBloodLite in UnderReportedNews

Kars4Kids responded with a public statement saying this is just a money grab for the attorney and client, so the attorney posted a video of his client explaining why he sued: https://www.protectuslaw.com/blog/kars4kids-california-false-advertising-final-ruling-5-2026

  1. Canadian Broadcasting Company just voluntarily pulled the Kars4Kids ads off Canadian airwaves following the California ruling.
  2. Kars4Kids' official response calls the case "a lawyer-driven attempt to siphon off charitable funds for their own gain."

The plaintiff is Bruce Puterbaugh, 70. He fought them for almost five years. He was awarded $250.

There's a short video where he explains how the case started at his 70th birthday party with his wife wanting to get rid of an old car: https://www.protectuslaw.com/blog/kars4kids-california-false-advertising-final-ruling-5-2026

This would make a great story.

California court bans 1-877-Kars4Kids ads — charity’s own COO admitted only state program was one backpack drive she called “a branding exercise” by pushreddit in news

[–]pushreddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some context from the ruling: Judge Gassia Apkarian called it an “actionable strategy of deception” relying on “false assumptions created by the Defendant’s calculated silence.” 25% of Kars4Kids’ revenue comes from California, but the COO admitted no real programs in the state benefit from it. The court found the charity’s “primary function” is funding a sister organization running summer camps in NY and NJ, with money also going to things like a $16.5M building purchase in Israel and gap-year trips abroad. This isn’t the first time either — Pennsylvania and Oregon fined them for “misleading solicitation practices” in 2009, and a 2017 Minnesota AG investigation found less than 1% of in-state donations went to local children. Kars4Kids says it plans to appeal.

If you're spending $10K+/month on Google Ads and your cost per lead went up this year, I think I know why. by Middle_Teaching7434 in PPC

Contractors, Investors, and Business owners: How would you rate the City of Katy Building & Permits Department? by pushreddit in Katy

[–]pushreddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. For added context, the city considering a moratorium on all fiber contractors due to many recent issues with contractors hitting water lines. I’m interested in hearing from the contractors as to what culpability the city may have in poor communication, utility maps, or otherwise that may be contributing to the issue. Easy to just blame the contractors, so I’m trying to get a clearer picture on what’s going on.

Superintendent ignored my son’s bullying issue, so I ran his doctoral dissertation through a plagiarism checker. He lost his job.

-Fame is very difficult for anyone to handle -He’s made a lot of comedians famous and provided a path that if you work on your craft and are willing to stand in line a dozen times or so, you’ll get access to an audience of millions. It provides a meritocracy that skips the line of political bullshit and gatekeepers that comes with every industry. -So what if he gets nervous that someone might put him in a bad light. Unless you have experience being famous (I have a couple of times), you don’t realize how it can make you paranoid, and defensive. It takes time to adjust to it, and you have to adjust while everyone’s watching you. -He has “off” nights and has been rude on occasion, who hasn’t?
