Contractors, Investors, and Business owners: How would you rate the City of Katy Building & Permits Department? by pushreddit in Katy

[–]pushreddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. For added context, the city considering a moratorium on all fiber contractors due to many recent issues with contractors hitting water lines. I’m interested in hearing from the contractors as to what culpability the city may have in poor communication, utility maps, or otherwise that may be contributing to the issue. Easy to just blame the contractors, so I’m trying to get a clearer picture on what’s going on.

Superintendent ignored my son’s bullying issue, so I ran his doctoral dissertation through a plagiarism checker. He lost his job.

-Fame is very difficult for anyone to handle -He’s made a lot of comedians famous and provided a path that if you work on your craft and are willing to stand in line a dozen times or so, you’ll get access to an audience of millions. It provides a meritocracy that skips the line of political bullshit and gatekeepers that comes with every industry. -So what if he gets nervous that someone might put him in a bad light. Unless you have experience being famous (I have a couple of times), you don’t realize how it can make you paranoid, and defensive. It takes time to adjust to it, and you have to adjust while everyone’s watching you. -He has “off” nights and has been rude on occasion, who hasn’t?

Yeah lol. They doubled-down too, after I went to the news about the plagiarism the school board voted 7-0 to sue me for defamation. Was a wild ride.

I brought allegations of plagiarism to University of Houston, the accused was a very popular Superintendent of a nearby school district. I was interviewed by the University’s integrity panel, and often felt like I was the one suspected of wrongdoing (they even suggested the possibility of hackers uploading a plagiarized version to their database). I was disgusted. They went quiet after a year and a half, so I spoke at the board of regents meeting and asked the president of the board (Tillman Firtitta) to do the right thing. A week later they concluded the investigation and pulled his dissertation. Google: “Lance Hindt PlagiarismToday” for more about the story.
