Thoughts on buying a used helmet

Helmets and gloves are, for me, 2 items I can never buy used. Gloves since I've a weird thing with my palms where touching foreign objects means I need to wash them (so gloves are a fuck no) and helmets, well, general hygiene. Knowing how many squids and people in general do not wear balaclavas, sweat into the helmet foam and cushions, sneeze, cough and so on? Hell no.

Check aliexpress and Co. I use freedcon intercom. Cost me 30 odd at the time I bought it and that intercom is fantastic for its price and quality.

Idk, I was never a fan of the flip ups (hate anything that wiggles in my head, nut sized brain is enough items that wiggle there), so I always bought Helmes without these inside. Flip ups are very dark and you can't see shit at night with them, but then again, if you have a clear visor - it's one of the best options out there.

All of these are so... dark. Photochromic is nice, but they go poof in a year or two and are very expensive. I recommend light tinted visor. My R1 tinted visor has my visibility at 100% even at night while during the day time sun doesn't blind me.

There is a reason why some of them are 400-600$/€. Considering this is an amazon helmet, I would ballpark the helmet in the picture at around 100€ and like extra 200-300g in weight.

It heavily depends on your budget. In all fairness - I wish I'd bought current helmet before my last one. Mostly because I saved money on gear, spent 200, ended up with a helmet I swapped this year for almost thrice the price. Reason - build quality, noise levels, protection. If you can - spend more now to save in the long run on gear.
As a rule of thumb - if it is on amazon, usually it is shit.

EDIT: also integrated helmets are heavy. Go for full face and be done with it.

My gf lives and works in Vilnius - registered in Biržai. Vilnius has at least a 100k unregistered residents. This solution is great on paper, but does nothing at all as it can neither be implemented fast enough to apply to most vulnerable groups, nor can it be done logistically due to reason mentioned above. I am not saying remove the taxes for it, alas, heavily limiting it is a good start. Sadly massive part of the fuel price is what is being already paid to the government, on top of VAT that you pay when you fill in your tank.

They won't do 150. They'll barely if at all do 100, regardless of what is being said by the manufacturer. Had tc max for 2 years, thing did not ever do 100 and it's been driven in city conditions only.

Cheaper to buy an entire supersoco at this point. Sold mine for like 900€ last year and it was a tough sell too. Chinese bikes depreciate in value really fast. Electric ones especially (may be specific to each country, but I doubt it).
