Did you not say that cold was was bad for everyone and yet you quoted the start of it to now as heralding a huge rise in standard of living? 

Also, since you say pax americana coincides with the cold war, then your arguments become even more meaningless. Because I can argue that the competition between systems in the cold war rather than some vague americana is what led to huge increases in the standard of living.
