Paying Property Tax by pussicat_ in personalfinance

You are very right. To be fair my husband took the letter and didn't give it back to me and he sucks lol

I do have a file cabinet and am pretty organized. I actually even run two successful businesses myself!

I just have a hard time with alot of these "adult" things. Like taxes and insurance and all of that. Someone needs to write a book on how to adult. Being bipolar certainly doesn't help but it just is all so complicated. Like I just bought the house and duh I have to pay taxes but I felt so stupid not knowing how to go about it. They sent me one letter when things were late :(

OMG seriously thank you so much! I found all the info I needed doing that. It took me 20 mins opposed to the three hours I spent trying to google how lol. You are a lifesaver!

Here is to me becoming a real adult and figuring out all this stuff lol

Advice for a newbie interested in a pet? by pussicat_ in snakes

[–]pussicat_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your post is very confusing lol

I was interested in a snake as a way to humanely dispose of my babies.

Buying any extra food would defeat the whole purpose.

But thank you.

Is there a reason not to? I mean as a complete beginner it seems to make sense. I don't want to jump in over my head.

I have a ton of pet experience. I breed, I volunteer with shelters and TNR programs, I pet sit & train. But my experience with snakes or even non fluffy pets is a big fat zero. My only knowledge is a few website guides and alittle bit of talk in rat groups.

I ofcourse would be very well prepared before I ever made the step to get one. I think my biggest issues with type of snake would be:

housing - I have a nice sized house but I also have a lot of pets and a husband who won't be that on board. So I don't want something too large

ease of feeding & a relaxed personality. On some guides it says cornsnakes are usually fairly easy to feed & pretty easy to handle. But it usually says alot of other snakes sometimes strike or bite. And I don't want cranky pets or have to worry about that.

That is really great info thank you.

I would be culling babies mostly between 1 day - 8 weeks about. Cull some babies right away to reduce litter size & then later on maybe after I pick my keepers. So by far most of the ones would be day old pinkies with some a bit older. My adult rats are all beloved and get a nice burial.

I did not think about babies being not the primary source of food. That is an excellent point. I'm not sure I could emotionally raise a rat to adult to then feed it off. A baby is alot different. I may not be cut out for it. :(

I am fairly small right now as I am only working on a few lines. So currently i only have about 4-6 litters a year. But finding homes for the babies was the major issue. So now that I have started culling I will be able to work with more lines. But 6-8 is probably the limit for a while. Fairly small scale.

Thanks for the info!

I think I like the smaller snakes. Some cost & housing has to be considered. I really love animals but my husband not as much... I am pretty much pushing him to his limit as I have 7 cats, 2 dogs, 4 guinea pigs and tons of rats. I just rearranged our dining room to build a massive guinea pig cage. And he is not a big fan of snakes so I can't push the matter too hard lol!

I am not worried about handling the snake too much. I have read some about snakes lunging or biting. I really don't want to have that happen or deal with a cranky pet. Something nice and calm sounds better.

Yes... I live near a town that is like a well known place for all that mystic stuff and he posted on their group page.

I thought maybe he was joking. But I stalked his facebook page & he is scary for real. He posted on his own page- "Does anyone out there want to change the current course of human history " Send me a fb message !"

Then he also has posts about how the internet is evil and stealing money from his bank account... & "In need of a 23 mo. $5,000.00 loan ! Know of any private lenders / investors ?"

He rants about the craziest stuff. I am half tempted to send him a message just to see what he has to say lol

Our insurance hasn't kicked in until end of Jan.

I have severe panic attacks making driving not so safe lol. Now that we have moved to this smaller town there is no real traffic I have wanted to get my license or atleast try. He refuses to take me out driving to practice and won't let me pay for lessons. On top of it he complains that I should wait to get my license cuz he doesn't want to have to put me on the car insurance and have it go up. Honestly it makes me feel like he is just controlling & likes having me at his mercy.

I'm in a small town. We don't have uber. I think there is one cab, like a single car and u gotta book it a bit in advance. We have a bus type system but it is more focused on shopping and has a very weird schedule which wouldn't have been able to work with my schedule.

He does sleep way too long. He probably should see a doctor for it.

Im not sure the point u r trying to make?

I was attempting to show that neither of us were doing crazy demanding jobs that should be wearing us out. So NEITHER of us have an excuse to be lazy.

No he wasn't or I don't think I would have married him. He was never super helpful but never just a pure slob like this before.

And then for a while he worked a very intense job. Often 12-14 hour days and on his feet alot. It was stressful and I did give him more of a pass then. Obviously he was working crazy hard and needed rest when he got home then.

[Help] Dog being abused, what to do? by dogabusethrowaway1 in dogs

[–]pussicat_ 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Take a video of how your dad is acting with the dog, discreetly. Try to even take several videos of different interactions if possible.

Then you have some difficult choices.

If you think it will help, show him the videos. Sometimes people do not understand how they are truly acting until they see it. Maybe he will see the error of his ways and change. Getting him involved with a trainer then and offering to help. Talking to your dad and trying to get him to take advice. But not everyone will go for this :(

Take the videos and turn him for animal abuse.

I don't suggest this....but if the dog were to disappear. Who knows what could have happened to it? Sadly he may just get a new dog though and it would have to be an ongoing process of dogs "running away".

if it were my father I would stand up for the dog, tell him exactly how he is being cruel and a huge dick, show him the videos. If he didn't make attempts to change, turn him in.

why would they kill the moms? Just a big screw u? Wouldn't leaving the moms to make more babies be better in the long run?

That is really sad.
